About to pull my hair out..Pics inside

I have a pic of my car below. The car is a 2003 black Mustang GT. As you can see in the pic there are swirl marks ALL over the car, no matter where light hits, there are swirl marks.

I have took the advice in my other thread. And I think I have a list of products to use that will make my baby shine. But now that the Autopia store is getting rid of the 1z line I had to alter my list. I would like to order all my products from one store, so I started with the Autopia store.

My plan was below

1z paint polish

AIO

NXT wax

Would this process take care of my cars condition?

If not, can someone take the time to go through the Autopia store and make a list of products I need?

I also saw Meguiars #83 but didn't know if it would be to rough or not. I'm lost in a sea of many products, haha

Also how many pads do I need with the PC? Would 1 of each work, or more?

Are you using a PC on your process? I've been very happy with the menzerna twins (intensive and final) to remove swirls. I've also tried meguiars #83. I like intensive more because it breaks down much faster and doesn't haze my paint as much as #83. Also, i heard that poorboys ssr line are very user friendly. Haven't used them so i can't comment on them. Good luck.

Get the two menzerna products and an orange and white pad (orange for intensive, white for final polish) and top with Zaino Z-5. It fixed my Black Evolution perfectly this past spring. I not only had swirls but fine hairline scratches from the previous owner going through car washes....

I personally use Poorboy's SSR2.5 and SSR1 on my black cobra. It works like a charm.

2.5 is for more severe swirling, and 1 is for the smaller problems. I'd probably go with 2.5 if I were you. You'll want to use a cutting pad with the 2.5, and a polishing pad with the 1.

Regardless of which product you go with, you will need to work it in properly...so take your time and work it in good.

Thanks for the help. I think I have my final list of products to use. Please let me know if I am correct or not before I order.

Menzerna Intensive Polish

Menzerna Final Polish

NXT wax

Should I add a coat of AIO after I do the Final Polish? I am also going to clay the whole car after I wash.

All products will be used with a PC as well.

I believe you can still buy 1Z products from the Autopia store, and soon you'll be able to buy them at bargain-basement prices.

More important than who's brand you choose to buy is making sure you get a product of the appropriate cut level and use it with the appropriate pad for the job. To that end, it may make sense to buy a couple levels of polish so that you have the one that works. :wavey

Ok so maybe I should go with ssr2.5 and AIO then the NXT wax? And drop the Menzerna twins?

Of your two choices go with either the Menzerna line IP, FP, or the 2.5 followed up with SSR1. You may find you won't need SSR1 after 2.5, some people are able to go right to their LSP after 2.5 but "usually" you will need to follow with a finer polish.

No need for AIO, as it is a chemical cleaner w/ no abrasives. Your paint should be good to go and ready for NXT after your two step polishing job. Save the AIO step later on in the year if you keep your paint in tip top shape you could use your AIO followed w/ NXT if you wanted. I just think AIO will be a wasted step after your two step process of the products you may be going with. Hope this helps.

Thanks General Lee. I think I will go with the 2.5 followed by the SSR1. Then go with the NXT.

Don't forget some VM After the SSR2.5/1 :)

Actually I detailed my cobra yesterday and today...I don't have pictures yet, but here's what I used:

wolfgang clay

SSR 2.5 w/ cutting pad on a few problem spots

SSR 1 w/ polishing pad

VM w/ polishing pad

CMW w/ finishing pad

S100 by hand

and it turned out looking flat out awesome.

Don't forget that NXT is not a pure sealant. It comes with cleaners in it. If you use it after AIO you will not get what you want out of the Klasse. If you have the Klasse sealant use it instead of the NXT. If you love the NXT and are going to use it. Use poorboys ssr2.5 or ssr3. Iwould use ssr3 myself( it has no petrolium in it where ssr2.5 does. Then I would use ssr2 and if I had to I would use ssr1. Then I would use the NXT. If you want crazy shine I would wait 24hrs and follow th e NXT with a pure sealant (No cleaners) or a good wax like p21s (no cleaners) wait till you see it shine. Poorboys makes a pure sealer with no cleaners. I think its call XP or EX sealant. you could layer your NXT with that aswell

I think I fell in love Friday with SSR1, I used it on a Toyota Land Cruiser with my PC and a polishing pad and it really helps to clean up the paint, if you clay and use SSR1 you will be looking at some really clean paint.
