Aaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhh!

DaGonz

Autopia fire/rescue.
For the last two weeks, we have some form of preciptiation every single day..snow storms, snow flurries, freezing rain and sleet!

Thwe days have been warming up to the high 30's to low 40's causing the snow and ice to melt, only to refreeze after the sun goes down

In response, the city and it's contractors have been plowing, sanding and salting the roads on a daily basis.

My vehicles are filthy rotten dirty, and I'm depressed!

Same here. I would love a garage to work in or a nice sunny day, to clean my car. Maybe there is a sunny day dance, something similar to a raindance.

Eric

I feel your pain. My car has gone four weeks without a wash now. Salt and sand have collected all over the tailgate, as well as any visible nooks. I'm DESPERATE to wash the car, but temperatures won't get above freezing for as far as the forecasters predict.

Get to a spray bay and just give your car some clean water. It'll take the top layer of salt, sand and grime off and it wont swirl, scratch or remove any sealent. A little dirt off is better than nothing.

It was about 7 P.M. and there was nobody else there. There are a couple huge signs that read "No Bucket Washing". I figured this only meant when it was busy so In the middle of the wash I guy walks up and starts pouring out my buckets. He tells me to rinse the car and leave...... I even offered to give him 5 bucks to let me stay but he wouldn't take it. Hey atleast he let me rinse the car off..... and it is clean so I guess it was worth it.

Incredible!! You'd think he'd be happy someone was pumping quarters in his machines. Too dumb for his own good, I guess.

Hopefully you'll find another DIY joint that won't harrass you. That guy doesn't deserve another dime of your business.

NO KIDDING! What an idiot - I can't even bring myself to call him a businessman, as he obviously doesn't value the customer that was plugging money into his otherwise empty business.

:nixweiss

Man...what a jerk...I can see if there were other people there waiting in line to use the bay. If you were the only one there..Who cares....He is making money off you. I really don't understand some people these days.

Wow, I've been kicked out of a lot of places, but never a car wash!

The guy's an idiot, but pouring out your buckets? Now if he told me to pour out the bucket, but pouring it out himself? Maybe he's looking for a fight. If you have some old or cheap buckets, leave them there at 3:00 AM in the next week or so, a couple of different times, then he might be up all night staking the place out!

Was the guy big at all?

If not, why didnt you tell him where to shove it? And then come back anyway, and if he doesnt like it...

Big or not, Being a Business man he may have been carrying a firearm. Washing you car is not worth fighting or getting shot..

I love autopians..... i tell my friends this story and they think they can't get past the fact that I am washing my car in 40 degree weather ;) . I don't think that this guy owned the car wash I think he worked the full serve that is attached..... screw it - I'm not going to get all unglued over something like this. I'll just go to a different one.

I went to school in Worcester for four years, and then Boston for four more years, and that is precisely the reason I moved to New Orleans right after that!!!!!!!!!!!:xyxthumbs

The funny thing is, if he had any kind of brain, he would realize that hand washers end up using more quarters in the long run that the others. At least that is the way it is for me, especially if I am doing wheel detail at the same time.....a#$%wipe

BIGKev,

Out of curiousity, were you at the car wash by the Acura dealership on Rt. 18?

My car is filthy and I have made a resolve to wash it tomorrow regardless of the temperature. As long as the water won't freeze to the car, I'll be out there!

I was not at the one by the Acura dealer.... I have never used that one but I pass it everyday. I was at one in South Brunswic on 1. I wouldn't do it today it's too cold the water will freeze.

We have finally broken into a fair weather pattern..while it is cold (temps in the 20's to low 30's) the roads are dry and I got to bring the Jeep and the F-150 into the firehouse and give them both a well needed washing and vacumming!

Two down, one to go!

Firearm at a car wash :shocked Sorry you'll have to excuse me I'm from Britain where the closest we get to firearms is little potato guns :nixweiss ;)

Twas just a bit of tongue in cheek humour chappie ;) :)

BIGKev,

I think I know which car wash you are talking about. Even with temperatures hovering above freezing, I managed to get out to wash the car today. It was so cold that after I finished, my hands would not do what I wanted them to. It took about 15 minutes before I could type, turn on the faucet to rinse off the mitts/MFs, etc.

At least the car is clean... :)

Hey Gonzo, I washed and waxed the IS today(thank god the roads are FINALLY DRY!). I only got a chance to do half the car :(. I was doing it while at work and didn't have time to finish, but it still looks good. There is still some remaining zaino/S100 on the paint so it will hold till next weekend. Of course the car will be inside until next weekend anyway :). Do u guys still have a lot of snow in marlboro, we still have a lot here in southboro. Damn stuff won't melt. Went to RI today, they have NOTHING on the ground. grr, what a difference 35 miles makes.
