A very light scratch

Hi everyone, I’m new to this site. I hope you can give me some advice.

I have an 03 Anniversary Red Corvette with a very light scratch on the hood. Probably got it from something on a drying towel or water blade. It’s about two feet long but you can’t feel it and you have to be standing at the right angle and light to see it. I’ve used swirl remover with great success on other parts of the car but after several attempts this seems to be a little too much for it to handle.

Before I go out and something more aggressive, what would you suggest I try next?

Thanks

If you have a PC I would give DACP a shot. By hand, the 1z polishes, Paint Polish in particular, might give you good results. 1z polishes are very user friendly by both hand and machine. Hope all goes well and welcome to Autopia! :wavey

RAP- Welcome to Autopia! The paint on C5s is sorta hard, so as Bill D suggested, you might need something like DACP- not much p oint in using something in between that and what you have now. Work the DACP a long time, and follow it with your swirlmark remover. You might need to use the DACP a few times to get it out, but I wouldn't go with anything more aggressive.

I prefer PB's SSR 2.5 over DACP, less dusting easier to wipe off and it seems to break down finer. Worked wonders on 2 details I did this weekend.

Thanks for the replies, and the welcome. I'm going to place an order.

I don't have a PC mostly because I don't want to cause more trouble than I have to. I've heard that some poeple have easily messed up the C5 finish using a buffer. I'll be doing this by hand, it might take longer but I will be able to keep it under control.

get meg's scratchx - but a PC is pretty much goof proof - your probably thinking about a rotary - which, if you don't know what your doing you can damange the paint fassssst.

OK, you guys convinced me. I ordered a PC and accessories today. I'll try it out on my wife’s car first though. :D

Congrats! :xyxthumbs

No need to try it on the other car first, you really can't screw up with the PC in 5 mins time you'll be in polishing heaven! :D :D :D
