A true beginner

Ok, first my confession...up until last week I never really took good care of my cars. I drove inexpensive cars, went through automatic car washes, and thought that swirl marks were just a sign of good car care!

...Then I bought a new Infiniti G37X sedan in Blue Slate and now I suddenly realize that I need to do a better job with my new girl!

But frankly, I don't have a clue where to start! Ideally I'd like to keep things simple and buy some kind of starter kit that has all the basic products I need (perhaps the Wolfgang kit?). Anyone feel like helping a newbie out with some basic advice and recommendations?

Sure... We can help.

But first, you gotta look all around the forums and look at some of the info. (lots of it here)

Seriously though, tell us what you're trying to accomplish, in what time frame.

btw Howdy.

First thing is to learn good techniques for caring for your car. The only way to do that is either watching videos or reading up. Once you do that you will get an idea of what products you will need.

I have some on my store: Detailing How To Articles

Autogeek has a bunch: Auto Detailing Facts, auto detailing Tips, How to detailing Guides, how to polish, how to wax, DIY detailing, do it yourself guides

And you can learn a lot by going back and reading through what these guys have posted on here. :bigups

Hope this helps and welcome to the site by the way.

Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate the links and suggestions on where to get started. While I'm doing some studying, I'd like to get some kind of product package or kit with most of the basics in it. My budget is $200 or less and I'd like some kind of combination wash, clay, polish, wax, etc. that I pretty well rounded across the board. I'm totally overwhelmed by all the different products out there. Any decent "all in one" solutions you would recommend?
