A Toyota 4 Runner Today

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
The neighbor has been asking about getting his 4 Runner done...things are some what slow at work so this was today job....I'm also booked threw the weekend with two full details and one wash wax for a regula customer..

Washed...clayed
SSR1 with a cutting pad on the PC
P-w-C with a polishing pad
EX-P by hand

I personally clay about 50% of the cars that I detail. It does leave a better finish in the end for sure, but some customers are not as picky as others. If a customer has a high dollar black car for instance, I will clay it. If it is a 95 Red cavalier, no I will not clay it unless it really needs to be.

Some of the local detailers charge extra for clay...acting like this is some sort of super expensive process....I do one detail and that alone includes clay, SWR or polish, glaze and sealant / paste wax or both if I have time...I just feel that all customers will be much happier with the results this way and so will I.

Agreed. I throw it in with the price. There is one place around here that upsells clay at $50 for a car up to $100 for a large SUV. They also upsell Sealant at $75 a car.

I think that's why my detail biz has grown so well for me....I'm no smoke & mirrors about what I am doing...I can use the best products on the market have over 30 years hands on experience and take the time to turn out the best quality I can....Clay is just one of those process that produces that result
