A Queston for Pros

Its really a two part question:

1)What is the most common mistake newbies make in detailing?

2)What's the worst thing you've ever seen done to a new car?

1) Not taking enough time to do the job properly

1a) Concentrating on products and not the technique

2) The dealer using a brush to wash cars

1. improper washing. In fact, this week, saw a newly repainted 280Z Turbo, black, that had been washed and already had microscratches all over it. My 11 year old car was next to it and looked better with it's original paint.

2. brush washers. Didn't see this, but my wife's coworker went after bird droppings that "wouldn't come off" with a green pad.
