A Question For Meguiar's #80 users

Meg's #80 is a product that I have had very good luck with and I have been ready for an LSP after using it with a polishing pad.
The comment on another forum about #80 leaving haze or marring on a finish that required further polishing before applying the LSP really surprised me.
Interestingly enough, it was supposedly a problem when used on soft paints. Then a poster said it can give a problem on hard paints.
In my experience, it has worked fine on Honda Red, Silver, Gold - Saturn Red, Black - Pontiac Red, White, Sapphire Blue - Chevrolet Silver, White - Ford Silver - Buick light metallic Blue. No haze or marring on any of them.

My guess is that the marring is a result of working the #80 too ling and ending up with basically a dry pad.

Any of you had any marring problems with #80 when used with a polishing pad?

I like #80. Never had any problems with haze or marring. I would question the pad they are using. Or as you mentioned maybe working it too long.

I use #80 more than anything else and it has never done anything other than leave a flawless and very glossy Finnish.
I even use it on my Black show car.

I agree with Charles if someone is getting poor results from #80 it is the process and not the product.

Last fall I did some painting on my show car and after wet sanding I used #83 and a LC Orange pad with a rotary then #80 with a LC White pad and it looked dam good.

I did go over it with PB-PP and LC Blue but I really don't think it made any difference maybe someone with better vision than me could see improvement.
