A new product

You know, I was thinking about it and I think I need a new product to coat my car with.

I hope that's something I can get excited about detailing my car.

So I'm looking for suggestions. Looking to try something that has the possibility of being better than everything else I have tried.

Better as defined by me:

1. Not hard to apply
2. Super hydrophobic (self cleaning)
3. Looks great
4. Topper not required
5. Not too expensive (Using the EXO as a baseline of normal price for coating)
6. Has to be something that has a thumbs up from someone I trust.

Open to suggestions. If nothing gets me going, I may just run the Viking coat and the white alabaster through the winter. My lease is up 3/16 and I will only consider buying it if they give me a cant walk away from it kind of deal. They never do :(

My cars look great, and I take good care of them, but they are driven.

I say you try and find a pro coating on the black market. That should make things exciting. I believe GTechniq has one that has to be sanded off if you ever want to remove it.

Sounds like a good idea. I see one guy using sapphire v1 ceramic coating on a facebook detailing group.

Looks great but for me the topper is necessary to get the look and in the bitter cold winter I cannot use it as a drying aid as the wax in it will get funky in the sub zero.

I love the look and hate the extra work. Plus it does not release dirt like the other coatings. But, if I lived in Florida, I would use it all the time. Or Cosmic.

Viking coat looks good to me.

Sounds like a great idea, and since its a lease it wont be my problem for too long!

maybe just try some bowling alley urethane? I mean as long as were sanding.

Perhaps, I used the original cquartz and was unimpressed with the beading. It also made my white paint darker with I did not love on white.

I know they have UK now, so perhaps.

It sounds like you described Cquartz. Reload is not needed.

Sonax PNS sealant looks great and actually releases dirt and stays clean better than any coating I've tried. Just a thought. So does FK 1000p.

PBL is beyond awesome. Hydrophobic, easy to install, looks beyond mint. Search this site and AutoGeek and you'll see tons and tons of pictures.

I have used that. It's great. Looking for a new product or experience. Something better that what ice used before.

Sonus ION Paint Coating. Super easy to use, goes on and wipes off just like Viking Coat, super slick, and lasts up to a year. I honestly think this is one everyone should try. Not really sure if it's really a coating or not.

I do love PBL V1 and will be trying V2 eventually. V1 was very easy to use and would buy it again.

I liked the Wolf's Chemicals coatings and wish they were still offered at ACC. Hard body is super slick, but it can be finicky if you put it on to thick.

I like 22ple also, but it is a little bit harder to apply.

FK1000P!

I'm on my fourth layer and its blinding. People say it looks "white" (pure gloss) lol. I love the look.

...beat Accumulator to it!

P.S. Haven't tried my Sonus Ion so I can't recommend it, but it seems to meet the criteria if it has to be a "coating"...

For $30 to do 6 cars, there's no way it's an actual coating...
