A modest suggestion for improving the PoorBoy's line...

Newspaper

True but if done correctly, there is no streaking involved. I used this method 'back in the day' if you will prior to all these neato cool products.

And.. never had one bit of streaking. Perhaps it is your technique that needs some working on.

Admittedly I've made this post too many times, but currently, and even "back in the day" we use newspaper and clean cold water from a trigger sprayer to do windows, and without embellishment it works just fine. Sometimes people look at us funny (we do 50 cars a day in peak periods), but get very few complaints. :phone:

Also, we have a couple hundred of Steve's microfiber towels (all types), and they work good to.

Now back to lurking :rabbi

IMHO, it's not the ink it's the newspaper that does the cleaning & polishing.

Think about it, rip a page our of NewsWeek or SI & try to clean a window. No luck, right? Now try something you printed at home on an ink-jet printer or laser printer, same result, right?

Now try some newspaper. Aside from getting your hands dirty, it's the rough quality of the medium-grade paper that's working for you, not the ink.

The paper used by NewsWeek, SI, and laser jet paper is a polished paper high-grade paper and it's practically non-absorbant. They just push product around.

Recently, my local newspaper changed to a better grade paper 'cause they just installed new presses and cleaning with that newspaper doesn't work any more.

They're obviously still using ink on the new newspaper so it must be the old-fashion, old-style newspaper that gets the job done.

By the way, I prefer Stoner's & MF for interior/exterior glass cleaning but when the windows really get crappy from winter driving, newspaper works the best without totally futzing-up a MF towel.

My belief is that thicker MF works best for glass. This goes a bit against conventional wisdom but I find that longer nap/fibers do a better job of both cleaning and drying the glass. My fave is the Viper glass cleaning towel.

I had the Viper, did ok, especially no lint but I don't think it can compare to the Detailers Paradise/Norwex :bigups
