A little info on the Meguiars Soft Buff Pads

I finally got a chance to use my Meguiars soft buff 6.5 inch *polishing* pad today. I've been waiting to try these pads.

I did not complete my personal vehicle today, but for the time I did use the pad I have to say I really like it.:up

For those who are thinking about trying these pads:

That pads are flat and that causes a bit more splatter if your not careful, so start out at a slower speed or apply some pressure before you turn on the machine. The term *soft buff* really means soft. These pads flex very nicely over the curves of the vehicle and seem to really the hug those abnormal spots to allow nice even polishing. I have a tendancy to use a little to much product at times but these pads seem to not overload with product as easily, allowing you to keep on gettin' it instead of cleaning the pad or changing it.

Advice: Meguiars recommends the five inch backing plate w/ the 6.5 inch pads. You need this plate I ignored that recommendation and used my 6.5 inch backing plate which slightly hangs over the velcro:nono and already caused some premature wear on the pad. I just ordered the 5 inch plate.:)

Overall, I feel they are very decent pads initially and I plan to stick with them to see how they hold up in the long run.

I love these pads and use them for both rotary and PC use. Watch out when you wash them as the velcro can become "oblong" as opposed to perfectly round. This slight change in shape will cause the BP to come into contact with the pad (just like your larger BP did). I find that NOT ringing them out too much when washing/drying helps to maintain the original round shape.

Did that make sense at all?
