A great afternoon

NattyBumppo

Strange name, ain't it?
A new ice arena that opened up only 10 -15 minutes away has what they call "father and son pond hockey" every Saturday afternoon for 2 hours. Bascially, dads (or moms) and their hockey playing kid(s) can get together on the ice with other hockey families for a couple hours of old fashioned pond hockey. No real rules, no refs, no score keeping.....just playing a kids game and having fun.

I took my son there today and we had a blast. We split the 12 or so people into two teams and forgot all about everyday routines, responsibilities and stressors. Even though I'm SORE AS HELL right now it was the best therapy for the mind and spirit one could ever imagine.

We'll be regulars there on Saturday afternoons. Now I need to get my daughter on the ice. Unlike my son, who wouldn't harm a fly, my daughter will body check you into the seats if you give her half a reason. She's quite the tenacious 7 year old girl LOL. I just need to make sure she's on my team.
