a few good OTC products for LSP

I do some consulting with new vette owners that have never detailed and had great success with newbies using the "rapid flashfire" Blackfire method i.e.--> total polish and seal and crystal seal. For the "wash and wax" crowd, you have to keep it easy....

But every now and then, I get a person that just will not order online and wants to get something at the local autoparts store FOR A SPRAY/WIPE/WOWA product. Again I need available everywhere - I have been recommending Meg's Ultimate Quik Wax as I really like that product - Duragloss aquawax is avail at some, but not all...any others you guys recc that is avail at every major chain autoparts store?

I am looking for a LSP spray polymer not a detailer....

thanks

Glen the best one that comes to mind is from DuraGloss. All they have to do is look for it on the internet and see look carrys the product.

As I said, a lot of the major stores don't have it, think I'm stuck with the meguires products for universal availability.

Glen, do you not have a NAPA anywhere near you? NAPA's, all 4 of them close to me carry the DuraGloss line.

Thanks, I have seen that and many have told me they don't carry the rinseless....but napa is all over....

Off the top of my head

Mothers Reflections Spray Wax (according to Mothers this is there most durable spray wax)

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax

Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax

Meguires Ultimate Quick wax (Spary wax) works well for over the counter stuff. Looks good simple spray rub doesn't get streaky. Its not as good as the stuff you can get online but its ok and easy. Only real down side is durability only last 2-3 weeks or washes which ever comes first, but so easy to do its not big deal. Thats what I used to use but bottle goes quick and ends up being expensive because of the lack of durability.

I had no idea NAPA has DuraGloss. Can't wait until after work! :bigups

Meguires Ultimate Quick wax...

2-3 weeks? More like days my friend. I have done some testing recently, and although I also like Megs Ultimate Quick Wax, the durability during summer sun and rain, can be as short as one day. It does look great though, and could not be easier.

It is my understanding that although all NAPA's may not stock Duragloss products, they all have them available for order if you request them. And there isn't any additional "shipping" cost as far as I know.

My local NAPA doesn't stock Duragloss but when asked they simply give me the book to show them what I want.

Carquest also carries Duragloss, but much of the time the store offerings are small and different stores in one city carry different things. CQ does have a good online system though, and you can put an item in your checkout, then click on "cart" and it will tell you if it is available at the store (it will say "available today").

If the first store you select doesn't say "available today" click on the "change store" button in your cart and it will show 5 more stores and the availability.

glen, if they have any advance auto parts stores around, they do carry a pretty good selection of detailing supplies and also carry a selection of griot's garage products. griot's spray wax and griot's speed shine detailer are actually very decent. I use them often. griot's sealant and one step sealant are good, easy to use and a durability of about 3-4 months.

Glen, I'm with Troy here and wouldn't hesitate to have a store order DG for me (saves shipping). I sense you're not leaning this way and I'm not trying to twist your arm but really do believe that DuraGloss is tough to beat if available as a "local" product. Then again, if you need to have the store order it for you, you're might be better off placing an order at ACC and get what you really want as opposed to what's simply available. I still really like AquaWax as one of the best in its category.

My local NAPA store also doesn't have DG on the shelves but they have a huge catalog behind the counter of all their products they can get. I went in one morning and ordered a gallon of 902 and they called me up that afternoon to say that it came in already. I also had a 15% off coupon that they honored. Great purchase.

While nobody near me carries Duragloss - I'm probably the luckiest dude out there, because I have a place that stocks Prima... The full line.

If it has to be universally available - it's probably going to be Meg's or Mothers. Meg's UQW is pretty good for a spray wax. The durability may not be great, but it's easy to use and slick.
