How did you go about getting it that clean and shinny?

As you can see, I have done some custom painting and clearcoating in the engine bay.

To answer your quesiton. I usually clean the engine bay at least every other weekend. I use Simple Green and soft white terry towels.

On the painted parts I finish up with Meguire's Quik Detailer.

On the polished aluminum or stainless steel parts I finish with Mother's aluminum polish.

If you do this twice a month, it never seems to get too dirty:cool:

Also, every time I wash the car, I raise the hood and wipe down the engine bay with my absorber towel.

Hey Jngr......

I'll never catch up to your posting prowess, so I guess I'll just have to keep my engine clean to make up for it.:D

:D Hey now... My engine is at least as clean as yours is. It may not be dressed up for show (I sure would that it was) so your's would probably kill mine in a judging contest. :D

Ahhh..... Great minds really do think alike!! Such wisdom you have Sir Detailer. :xyxthumbs The Absorber is what I use on engines too since I discovered the BBT for drying the exterior. Waffle Weave microfiber towels rule!
