A beautiful day

It was a beautiful day in Denver...low 70's...nice breeze.

Today was the first day of the rest of my detailing life...I stand before you like Jake Blues in church with the light shining on him:)

My wife's CR-V needed doing and this time I was determined to do it right...so I ordered up a Zaino kit and a good set of brushes and towels from NACC.

Clay...this was my first go with clay. Can't believe the results...but checking it out tonight I see I have to do it again. It took most of the day --not just with clay but on all areas - to get it to a point where I thought I would be ready to finish tomorrow...but it still needs more prep. That's ok...I want this to be right.

I do have a question...I washed the engine room ...cleaned things well with a citrus cleaner...worked well...and used Zaino tire and rubber dressing on my hoses etc.. My problem is with the air intake. It's the stock Honda 4, and has a ribbed plastic air duct from the filter box to the intake body. That duct is nasty...brownish...won't clean up...what is the technique for items like this? Paint it? Is there a different cleaner I should use?

I've got to find a way to make this thing look respectable!

Other than that...thanks for the forum..I did a lot of research before I began and will be doing more.

I had a lot of fun today...it was very rewarding too...
