A 4X4 forum sale gone wrong

I found this thread on another forum http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=399203
Just goes to show what can happen when a trade or sale on a forum goes wrong. The thread goes on for 48 pages (and counting)

Note: some strong language on the other forum, but also some pretty funny stuff

It's threads like this that make me glad we don't have any trades or selling of items.

Enjoy

So I spent about an hour reading through the entire thread. All i have to say is wow, some people. It's such a small world, the fraudulant seller lives in SLO, he's given such a bad name for an otherwise great city.

it was like a car wreck, i didn't want to look but i couldn't help it. i guess you don't mess with those guys.

just finshed reading the whole thread between last niight and this morning and all i gotta say is wow! kinda scary how they got his whole family's information, including they're phone numbers.

thats why i always yield to big 4x4's

lmfao ....I read 3 pages and couldn't believe that $25 meant so much:no:

Just goes to show that trading on the internet can be tricky...I know someone on this board that was offered a new bottle of a product and when he got it , some of the product was missing...not quite new was it  the seller is no longer with us, but the buyer is and learned a valuable lesson.

Slightly off the subject, but a guy is posting in Autopia's shoutbox trying to get some IW that he feels is owed him by another member. It happens more often than people realize.
FWIW, my trades here were usually better than you might expect. Obviously, it depends on the individuals involved. I was involved with good individuals.:)

ok jay i got the hint  no moooore trading at DC I :surrender

just kidding...

Joe, this wasn't directed at anybody, I threw this up to show that not only is it let the buyer beware but even the seller. Be carefull who you deal with on any forum and be careful who you upset.

This went from a simple trade gone bad to, this kid being messed up for quite some time. All because he thought he could hide behind a keyboard, I guess he can run but he can't hide. :detective

This has been a public service anouncement to those who think that they can get away with anything just because it's the internet... there are people watching  :gun_banda

The first thing I thought was when I read the first few post was the person selling the gears cashed the check for the wrong amount. Therefore the seller entered into a contract to sell the gears for the lower amount. Someone mentioned this fact in thread. The seller could not read the check to ensure the amount is correct or proof read his post before clicking sumbit. Further, it sounds like a case of mail fraud.

I did not read through all of the posts over there, but people need to remember to dot their I's and cross their T's, tell the whole truth and deliver on their promises.

I have known of this thread since it started. And this guy has tried the same stuff on other forums and has been banned for it.

So how did this kid end up?

The kid sent the money order, but it wasn't a USPS one so it took longer for it to clear. As far as the buyer is concerned it's over.

But that kid is going to be hosed for quite some time he was banned from just about all the sites he had joined and there were links to that thread on Ebay where he was a seller (also getting some negative feedback there too).
There was alot of personal info that was put out, he (the kid) had made some harassing phone calls. So who knows how over it is?

It even had posative and negative effects on pirate4X4, the thread overloaded the server and it was down for a few days but there was alot of traffic.

The Admin locked the thread after 73 pages (the views are todays #'s) when I saw that it was locked on the 15th and it had 975,000 views. So people are still checking it out.

What I find amazing is that the kid HAS NOT been banned from pirate, and has actually been on even as of today   ;)

So ends the saga of Charlie

That thread is going to become a classic like the one where the dude that worked in a Ford dealership admited to taking a customer's car out and driving the hell out of it. The owner was a member of the forums and all kinds of craziness ensued. lol
