i decided to give ip and wool pad via potary sees how i never tried it before heres after ip via rotary on the right it still looked very bad after one pass its by far the worst condition ive seen a 7 year old car.

after the first pass i decided to just break out the 357 via rotary and sonus orange medium cut pad 1600 rpms got a little messy yes but i was taping areas off for my partner to get use to his pc and give the rotary a shot so sling was definitely an issue.at any rate the 357 and orange pad literally removed marring before my very eyes much to my suprise as this was the first time i :waxing: with it and orange. it basically left a ready to wax finish but i finished up with vmt1/fp2 via rotary and 3m finishing pad at 1200 rpms.

i then glazed with rmg twice and have yet to seal or wax it as i was up all night working on it.

wheels cleaned with megs wbx2 and tires dressed with hyper dressing. i plan on finishing with my new bottle of prime and atj and nb but heres where im at so far.

Great turnaround! Looks like fresh cherry liquid!!

thats exactly what i was calling it, same color as many shampoos but looks real nice and slick as can be, if it didnt drive like its got two flats id say its a keeper

i may just throw a coat of nb on it and call it a day though i havent made up my mind yet.

If she is garage kept you might see about 6-8 weeks before the NB would loose its slickness (IME) then you could always do a prime/AJT then.

Its going to look great either way.

Really nice job! :)

Kind of suprising the paint was that hard, I did an older Deville (1992, I think) and it polished out with a PC. Same color too. :nixweiss

Guess that is why we always start easy instead of going aggressive right away. ;)

yeah i wasnt planning on polishing that long either, but after an hour or two with a pc it wasnt cooperating the marring was probably the worst ive delt with. but thumbs up to the 357 orange*lc* pad( i think i said sonus earlier when in fact it doesnt seem to agree with me the way lc does) combo, the control i had with the rotary @ 1600 rpms felt like i was using a pc, so very pleased to have tryed it.

one more note i thouroughly enjoyed the use of adams in n out spray on all bottom trim and and rubber, plastic looks brand new and the ease of use is outstanding, how long it lasts i do not know but it definitely gets my vote for ext dress. maybe just on hard to get spots though due to its price.

any reason you could think of why it took so much to polish this out scott, i mean its the same paint you say could it just be due to the level of neglect?
