98 Trans Am paint correction

I have half a bottle of Meguairs Polymer Sealant left and I am wondering if anyone has ever tried applying it over the AIO. I am sure no one has but just curious. The bottle claims it has some mild cleaning properties so it would probably just take off the AIO(I am not using the Klasse sealant glaze after reading a couple of posts about people having trouble with it, no matter how much you try to persuade me). I found the Meguiar polymer sealant product gives a great shine(I believe better than caranuba, but I am a newbie somewhat), was easy to apply, and lasted a long time. I guess that is why it costs 16 dollars a bottle.

I also find it funny that on Meguiars website they state that the professional products are not sold at retail stores. I always get mine at the local auto supply store Murray's Discount Auto.

The #20 would remove AIO. what trouble have people had with AIO? AIO is a very good product , that is very easy to use. You should get a sample of it .

His problem is with SG. But I will say the same thing about SG. It is *very* easy to use. Just remember -- thin, thin, thin. If you can see it go on, you are using too much.

Applied properly, it is easy to remove. Particularly so if you use a non-carnauba QD on your buffing towel. I use Final Inspection. The SG comes right off!

 I was reading to fast and i got them mixed up. If used correctly Klasse SG is easy to remove , just use a MF towel and a non carnauba QD.

Waxman,

I, too, was hesitant about getting the SG off after reading all the threads here. But I read BradB's review on CMA

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/klassealtes.html

and decided to try it.

Result? I don't know what everyone complains about! Perhaps I'm lucky, but I have had <strong class='bbc'>no[/b] problems with removing SG. It actually is easier than removing a standard consumer-type wax (Turtlewax, etc.).

You really should consider it, the shine and durability is excellent.

blue skies,
Andy

Get yourself some FI, a foam applicator, and a good MF towel, and go to work. Make sure you allow the SG to sit for at least 20 minutes. And remember THIN, THIN, THIN!! Find out what your missing!

Dont be afraid to try the SG. After the first time I used it I was hooked!! If applyied correctly it is VERY easy to remove. I dont even have to use a QD spray. I just buff it off with a Miracle Towel. Give it a shot, I think you will like. Remember, very thin coats. If you ask yourself: "Did I put enough on?" then you did it correctly.

Good Luck!!!

If you had the experience I had with NuClear a few years back you would understand why I will never try the sealant glaze.

Two totally different products. I applied SG with really thin coats and removed with a 100% cotton cannon towel with no QD. Same amount of work I use with dried Meguiars #26.

I have seen blue coral touchless acrylic a few years back, product was just plain garbage. Klasse is much much better.

POs as everyone implied/said Klasse AIO will be compromised because of Meguiars #20's cleaning properties.

Yes!!! Thats it!!!! That is exactly what I used!!!!!!!!!It streaked it faded, dulled and cracked. It dried almost instantly when applied!!!! It took paint remover to get the thick junk off. You could not wipe this product. It was sticky as glue and had to be applied with a sponge evenly.

It was? I watched my cousin use it on his black mustand (93) and it was like yuck) I had much better results with Meguiars #7 and Meguiars #26 on that mustang with far less work. He then sold the car, darn! I used to love that mustang, nice rumble in the exaust with the cat back system (or something like that.) Only had about 45,000 miles on the car when he sold it 8 months ago.

Well the box was like pink and a teal blue or something like that. Thats all I remember of it, its somewhre in a garbage dump somewhere right now. Just plain sucked, armour all car wax was much better than that stuff.

Anyway, Klasse AIO and SG are much better products. I use both religiously. The corolla with the Klasse/Blitz combo has not been properly washed in about 2 months or so (still looks so good even with a little rinse). I'll get to try some AuotInt C on it in about 2 weeks, then put down a coat of blitz to protect it for the winter.

Gotta try Klasse twins,

Jason

I don't have a shady area. I used it in the sun (70 degree day not too hot). I did one half of the car and it was murder buffing it off. I plan to use hte rest of my KLASSE on my dads CADDY this weekend. I want to test its durability and detergent resistance. Hope it goes a little better the second time around.

The Klasse Sealant Glaze is very easy to use. Trust me. It's really not hard to remove at all. It buffs out extremely easy. Detailking, we've mentioned to you a few times that you don't apply the SG in the sun. I know that with Zaino you can, but don't do this with the SG. Laters.

No problem DK. I must admit this though, the fact that Zaino can be applied under intense sunlight does appeal to me. I live in an extremely hot and sunny climate.

[/b]</blockquote>I've applied and removed in the sun, no problems at all . . . it's one of the biggest reasons I went with Z; I'm an apartment dweller with very little shade

So I keep messing with my Father-in-law's 98 Trans Am (well actually a 98 Firebird V6, with a 99 Trans Am complete swap, and I mean complete, took a 99 Trans Am that was wrecked, gutted both cars and swapped all the T/A stuff to the firebird, drivetrain, electrical, interior, everything), to hone my techniques with my UDM. So this is the results with Megs 105 on LC yellow, then 105 on LC orange, then M07 and finally M26. Didn't fix to the level I wanted, but was the best I could do with the UDM. I need to learn how to use a rotary. Sorry no sun shots, it was cloudy and it looks better with no sun .
