97 4Runner single stage red..what to use

Hey dudes-

This Saturday I will be polishing a buddy's red 97 4Runner. I am doing this for free, just to practice polishing. I did a little test spot by hand with some UC and there was paint transfer, confirming single stage, but it polished up nicely. Will be using my G110 on Sat. I have orange, white and blue pads.

I searched around and for SS paint some people like meg's 80 & 26.

I was just gonna use what I have, UC, Swirl X and some nuba.

I can get the megs 80 and 26 locally, but at a cost ofcourse.

Given that this is a free/practice thing, should I just use the UC/SwirlX that I have, or pony up and buy the megs 80 & 26? If it gives a much better result I would be ok with the expense. But if the result would be the same then no point.

Also what might be a really wet looking wax that could be bought in a store locally?

I am open to other recomendations. :)

Thanks,

I called around and it turns out 80 and 26 are not expensive at all. I'm just gonna get them and see which combo produces a better result.

I was going to suggest exactly that. It is always good to have options in case the paint doesn't play well with certain products.

80 and 26 should do very well (final 2 steps) on that paint.

I have used UC/SwirlX on my DD single stage red car. These products are very conducive for ss paints(lots of polishing oils) and helps to set the paint up for LSP.
