9 Second Vette, Dodo

Got a chance to detail this beast of a car. Hasnt been waxed since it got painted and washed MAYBE once because the guy didnt want anything touching it until it was ready for wax. Car has already run a deep 9 second pass, and has a new motor/nitorus setup. Made 600hp on a dyno all motor, and its built to handle "a little" nitrous ;)



Anyways, polished it (little to no correction needed) two coats of Dodo Supernatural (God's wax) and sealed if off. Best paint ive ever seen after wax, it literally looks eight feet deep. Everyone within 100 yards of this thing today broke their neck checking it out.

Detail is superb...I'd be curious to see if the 9's were achieved with the drag radials on it or with a drag pack...(slicks and skinnies)?

Where are you running 9's without a roll bar on a vert? I know at englishtown you need a roll bar to run under 13 i think.
 
not my car, its only been to the 1/4 track once i believe and that was at red river raceway. he runs the majority of the time at our 1000' track. they dont care lol
 
Looks very flat. Was it wet sanded at one time or is it a repaint? I do not see any orange peel GM is so well known for.

also you state DODO then sealed it off.....did you top the DODO?

yep it got painted not long ago. he kept it stored up until it was time for me:)

by deep i mean its not a 9.99. sorry for the confusion, i believe it has run 9.8 on the old setup. and his new one is stronger. he is shooting for 8's. i topped the dodo off purely for durability purposes.



cant find the slip right now, but his best on the old setup is a 9.81 at 139.8



our local track is only 1000 foot, and here is his best et' and mph pass to date

what did you top it with?



if he did run a 6.36 in the 1/8 that is a about a 9.92 1/4 and I am impressed!



F.Y.I. when his 1/8 mile time is 5.75 he is in the 8's
 
not exactly man. you can never say a X time will equal another X time. some cars pull way harder down track. you can get close, but its not always the case. for instance, hes already gone 9.81 in the 1/4 and that 8.12 6.36 was his new best 1/8.



the world record is 9.45 on a 6 speed corvette, and he is going for that later this year. shouldnt be a problem

That's the understatement of the decade!!! He's got a plate and a fogger system:bow



I'd never think(without hearing it especially) that this car went 9 anything? I love the cowl hood. I had a C4 with the same hood and it also had a 200 shot. Sweet.
