7335 vs. 7424

Today I received my PC (G-100) from autodetailingsolutions.com

I assumed since Meguiar's sells 6.5" pads, that the counterweight would be for these, but the CW says use only 5" pads... also, on the side of the polisher, on the warning label, the 7424 says "6" HD variable speed" while the 7335 says "5" HD variable speed"

I'm just wondering if everything else, besides the counterweights, is the same, and if my 7335 will behave like a 7424 with a 6" pad counterweight, once I switch the counter weights?

Oh and where's the best place online to order the cw from... one that I'll pay <$10 or close to it... basically someone who won't bend me over on shipping :grinno:

Thanks

Counterweights

yes they are ther same(and it's a 7336 not a 7335!)

also the cw are sized for a peice of sanding paper and not a foam pad so the the sizing is pointless

I have used both and do not feel a difference but....

some people who's oppion I greatly respect say they do notice a difference

so the choice is up to you

what they said ^ , just counterweight difference. the reason for some of the different model numbers (7424, 7336, etc.) is the accessories added, but they all are basically the same machine (some are labeled a sander or polisher, but will serve the same purpose)...

Thanks for the link... I'm just going to order it from somewhere with my next product purchase.

I used the PC this weekend for the first time with both 4 and 7.5" pads with no problems using the standard 5 counterweight

Yea I actually have a friend's 7424 with a 6 cw here so I'll test them side by side later see how it goes...

So the preferred CW for detailing on the PC 7336/7424 is 6? If that is true, then I "SHOULD" get a 6 CW for my 7336 since it comes with a standard 5CW in it?

Pretty much, yes. Some say there's no difference, others say there is. I say spend the extra $10 and find out what you like best.
