6.5 HP Shopvac or Hoover steam vac

I'm about to embark on cleaning my carpets this weekend in my 02 Suburban and I want to know what will extract more water a Craftsman 6.5 HP shopvac or a Hoover steam vac? (and we all know the darn thing don't make steam)

I'd go with the shop vac just due to the many other uses it will lend itself to in the future.

I have both of them already so I'm just curious what will extract more water from carpet and mats.

I don't have any experience with the Hoover Steam Vac then. I know if you get a wide crevice attachment, it makes a decent water extractor when using a bigger Shop Vac. I would imagine the carpets will still be damp though.

My Craftsman is a 5.0. Yes, it does leave the carpets slightly damp. I normally go back over the areas with a white terry cloth towel. For the vehicle I'm working on now, I left the windows cracked slightly and this a.m. the areas were completely dry.

i use a 5.0 vac then towel dry. if it is cold outside i will start car put heat on hi (floor)shut doors be sure to leave window cracked enough u can reach in &unlock encase doors locks also always have ebrake on and check temp gauge often.lol:dcrules
