Wow, that thing was really dirty! Glad that purple gunk all polished off so we could see that original color scheme...;)

Don't forget all that shiny brake dust that just washed off! What wheel cleaner did ya use?

I think we were ribbing you into providing a little more explanation. Clearly the car was cared for and modded....it's not like it was a rusting hulk in original condition that was restored back to stock condition, it clearly had a good paintjob even if not the original color scheme. Would you care to share the story?

Very clean '55 :bigups

I like the two tone with the side moldings a lot better than the solid purple. The Cragar SS wheels (at least they look like Cragar's) are a pretty good match too. Hard to tell from the pics, but does the white have a touch of pearl in it? I've recently seen a '56 and a '57 where they added some pearl to the white and it looked pretty nice.

Edit: So while you're shoveling snow up in MI your dad will be in sunny CA cruisin' in his '55? Not quite fair is it ;) ?

Setec: I knew you weren't giving me crap.. I was just plain along!

Elliot: Not fair at all! Yes that is flake you see.. It's actually a silver on wine as opposed to the more common white on red.

RTexasF: I'll get some pics of the bay for ya!

So basically this was purchased after the 67 Camaro was fully restored and there was no more work that could be done to it.. Boredom set in and the Camaro was sold and the 55 was purchased.

It wasn't in horrible shape but had no TLC put into it.

Modern day conveniences such as Power Steering and A/C were added. A CD player was also added. A center console was fabricated and in the center console the A/C vent was added, as well as the CD player (oh yeah and some cupholers..lol). This was done in order to not disturb the vehicles original construction and was accomplished since the center console can be removed rather easily...The exterior trim pieces were kind of tough to find.

I'm getting some more pics and will post the up.

Those look like some nice and couchy custom seats, too. Great restoration!

I miss having my (boss') old '55 to take care of. A blue and white with 23 original miles!:wow:

It was a display car for the business that got some Pink Moose once a month.

Stunning color combination! The before was pretty nice, but the after is much better. I think it could use something different for wheels though.

Todd, yeah the interior came out AWESOME!! The interior alone cost $8K

Those are cragars on the ride, he just got new rims - boyd coddington smothies, the one's in the pic are 15" the new ones are 17"

BOYD CODDINGTON SMOOTHIE I CLASSIC COLLECTION [POLISHED ALLOY] - Custom Wheels and Rims for your Auto, SUV, or Light Truck from Performance Plus Tire

The car is a ground up restore - show car. it has a 350 pulling it and a 700R overdrive tranny.

Power steering, windows & brakes (disc front drum rear) & Magna flow exhaust. Stainless gas tank.

The paint job is sick.. the red is from Jaguars 2005 model year and costs something like $700 a gallon. The silver is actually a wheel paint, he choose this because on how much flake it has. The rear quarter panels were replaced when it was painted. The painter found too much bondo in those areas so he replaced them and the craftsman ship is flawless.

Funny thing, I told my pops I posted some pics up of his ride, he tells me about his new wheels and that he's selling the 55 in the next couple months...lol
