4" pads with the PC?

A comment made in another thread got me to thinking about using 4" pads for the few times a PC seems to take forever to correct a problem.
It seems like rather than buy a Flex or learn to use a rotary, buying a 3.5" backing plate and a couple of 4" pads might be worth checking into.
It has already been posted elsewhere that it is possible to polish off enough paint to cause a real problem.

Yes it can, but so can a PC...a PC with a 4" pads can do damage rather quickly also.
So, if the 4" pad/PC combo can do damage rather quickly, it stands to reason that the same combination should do some correction rather quickly. Compared to the PC and 6" pads, at least.
So....
How about some comments from those of you that have used 4" pads with the PC?
Maybe even some comments about results from using 5.5" pads with the PC.
I have some 5.5" pads that I have not yet used this winter and if they do correction quicker than the 6.5" pads, (and it seems like they should), that would be a solution without spending any more of my kids' inheritance. :notme:

I noticed an improvement in correction just going to the 5.5" LC pads Charles, so I'm sure the 4" will correct even quicker.

I"ve ordered and used the 4" pads on the smaller plate and really like it for smaller cars with smaller body pannels. I have a BMW 3 series and like it for getting around the trim. I have the bigger plate and pads when I want to use them. Just my 2 cents...

I had a few scratches on my Honda Civic and tried the 4"(polishing and finishing)pads with my PC ,it was a breeze to remove those scratches since Honda Civics are known to have softer paint .
