3m with NXT

i just purchased 3m fine cut and swirl remover for dark colors..kinda of a silly question but which do i use first? and i was also wondering if anyone has ever finished these two products off with 2 layers of NXT..how are the results? thanks!

I think there's nothing wrong with your combo. I've had good results with 3M and Megs products combined. I assume you know how to use the product you bought (you won't buy it in the first place anyway). To answer you basic question (am I overlooking your basic question?), you would want to use the 3M cut (for medium swirls up) and the swirl remover (to finish what you cut, this is milder I believe) before NXT.

Use the swirl remover first to see if that does it for you. No need to use the more aggresive product if the milder one will correct your problems. If swirl remover wasn't good enough, then use fine cut until your satisfied and follow with swirl remover. I believe the 3M swirl remover has oils and fillers.

This is the exact combo I use. 3M is the only polishing products I use and then the NXT.If time permits I even apply a topcoat of S100.I do my detail work at a carlot where I get different commercial type of polishes and compounds to try but I always go back to my 3M products.

on the 3m products it says to apply in a circular motion..but shouldnt it be in a back and fourth? :nixweiss and also are any of these 3m products a glaze? or should i apply a layer of Meg show car glaze before the NXT. THANKS!

I believe both of them are not full fledge glaze but abrasive cleaners rather, both cut on the paint, the oils they may contain may be for lubrication only.

In my case I always break down my process to polishing and glazing as two steps. Glazing is an optional step if you want to add some more pop on the finish which you have cut.

Yes you may want that SCG or #81, or even #80 speed glaze as an additional step. #80 enriches the paint color more than SCG and #81 at least for me, but that is subjective. It's up to you.

on the back of the 3m bottles it says to apply with a circular motion..isnt it suppose to be a back and forth motion? thanks!
