3m Product line

I've been seeing the 3m waxes and QD's showing up more and more in autoparts stores and AG is advertising them a lot too. I'm having trouble finding any info or reviews on this stuff. I know they make good compounds but what about the performance finish and the quick wax and sperfect-it showcar paste wax? any good? I'm intrested in seeing what they look like but thought I'd ask before blowing more money on detailing stuff.

i havent used anything they have yet but i think i have seen the glass aerosol cleaner somewhere and it was pretty dang good..

they are a world wide innovator and they now own meguiars correct ?

so im sure they do the job, i know i want to try quick wax for sure and the tire restorer spray and their yellow MF towels look very good

There Show Car Wax is pretty good I have been using it for years.easy on and easy off black and yellow can.

+1 to what Alan said. The perfect-it paste is a good product. It has a nice deep look, sheds dirt well, and is very slick. Is it the be all end all? No, but what is?

Well you have to realize they bought out Meguires. So they now have a ton of new product available at their disposal. I don't think 3M has ever made a bad line up. (not saying they've always had the best but everything I've ever used from 3M has always worked well for me) And now they have all the meguires line up to tap into and relable as they see fit. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of it.

I can honestly say that their dealer lineup of chemicals are probably the worst I've ever tried. After I sold my shop, I did consulting for a large Chevy dealership that was using 3M exclusively in their prep/detail department. That lasted for about 2 weeks before I called the 3M (Metro Jobber) Rep and had him pull his stuff. Most of there bulk products(soap, degreasers/cleaners, dressings) are pretty weak IMHO.

Perfect-it is a pretty good wax. However, the true star of 3M's product line to me is Ultrafina Machine Polish #06068, aka Ultrafina. Have yet to find a better finishing polish via rotary.

As already stated Perfect-it wax is nice and sheds/cleans dirt well.

Their compounds cut well but dust really bad. Some polishes work, some are smoke and mirrors. UF is top notch.

A couple pics of 3M light cut cleaner wax and white polish pad with rotary. Cuts and hides swirls and gives a really nice glow. Can be a bit of a bear to remove, just do a panel and wipe.

It's good stuff, 3M bought Meguires a while back, and so that has increased distribution.
