Hi,

Last week, someone backed in to the left side of my car's bumper. That created a few scratches. I am going claim my insurance company to have that area repainted.

:(

After that area is repainted, is it okay to put a coat of klasse AIO/SG on it immediately ?

Thanks

You really want to give the paint some time. Even on new cars they say to wait a month or two before waxing. Ask the guy that does the paint work. Some of it depends on how they cure the paint and what kind they used.

Sometimes. It costs more so it depends on how much your insurance appraises the damage for. If they are just going to touch up then probably not. If they have to paint the whole panel then they will have to clear coat it to match the rest of the car.

Yes it's clear coated, all paint work on base-coat, clear-coat paint finishes get a new top coat of clear it's a must. Wait one to three months before waxing.

I have painted and clear coated bumpers. Got tagged when parked and the person left a note with contact info! I digress..heh anyways it just needed paint but they pulled if off and shot the whole bumper and clear coated it. I waited over a month just to be sure.

I waited 2 months. This isnt an official method, or even one I've seen mentioned, but it's what I did....the sniff test. I waited for the paint to stop smelling. The neighbors will think you're nuts for smelling your car though.

hey hows it goin everyone!
wanted to see what some peoples opinions were on the 3M perfect it 3 stage system 6064 6068 6085.

goin to be detailing a 2003 infiniti m45, black.. ive been using these compounds at work.but was wondering if there was another system out there to remove heavy scrathes..wet sanding is not a problem. any other system i should look into?

pads im using at work
blue coral yellow wool pad
blue coral yellow foam pad
blue coral black foam pad.

once again this is for a heavy correction job.
