3M Clear Bra Film

Would this be a good solution to protecting headlights after they have been wet-sanded to prevent future yellowing or dulling?

If so, where is the best place to pick up sheets/roll and is there a cheaper alternative to something that for sure works.

What about a coat of clear? I would think that would do the best as far as protection goes.

Not to hijack, but I was wondering how the 3m bras were for protection and their overall look when applied as a bra? Any pics, comments from any of the users? Also, any fear of trapping contaminants under it and/or it scratching the paint?

Do not try to spray clear coat on your headlights, this will just make a mess and flake. Yes 3M would be good to protect headlights from future pitting however for yellowing and UV protection I would put some sort of product designed for that. I personally throw a quick coat of 303 Aerospace protectant on my headlights as it will protect from harsh sunglight. I have never had headlights yellow yet. Even wax will help to some point.

Clear coat will not "mess and flake". I have done it before a few times, and it works great, much better than a film.

There is no way a clear is better than the film. That makes no sense. The film was made to protect the clear/paint....

Put it this way, the film wont chip, clear does.

3M WILL protect from UV rays. This is the BEST invention ever made for front end protection from road debris, rock chips, ANYTHING you can think of that will damage your headlights/paint from everyday use.

The headlight film is super easy to install, 5 mins max per side. For the front end itself this should be done professionally and the surface needs to be cleaned and free of any waxes.

The headlight film will not distort the light output nor change the look of the headlights.

Can you see the film?

How hard would it be to cutout the headlamp shape from a roll of 3m film. I considering taking this up to protect any headlamps that I wet-sand in the future.

if you go to the 3m clearmask website below and type in your vehicle they should already have the pre-cut headlamp shape for your car

Alright, I feel better now, it's only some sort of foreign Italian car.

BTW, the syringe is the best way to remove those bubbles, right at the edge. :bigups
