3lg Detailed Pearl Acura TL

Mothers day present. This Acura TL fell victim to a son who decided to wash her beloved car with a green scotch bright pad and sponge combo. Upon first inspection i was actually quite worried that he had scrubbed through the opal layer in the clear coat. The vehicle had a heavy layer of embedded dirt and grime making it almost a cream/toupe opal. Instead of the bright white of the areas he scrubbed off.

It was pouring out in the morning; I did not have an opportunity to take before pictures of the whole car. I had pulled it in, Washed it with ONR and then clayed it. After taping I proceeded to take these before shots. The areas with no shine are the scrubbed areas, not dirt. You can see here some of the initial color cast (taupe) of the car.

Big improvement :xyxthumbs

Gotta love people who think that scotch-brite and steel wool can be used on car paint! :doh

Nice work!

I couldn't believe someone would do that, but your attention to detail and hard work shows it!!!!!!:up

It still has scratches. not swirls. They were rounded out enough that you have to be 6" from the paint and look at them from a very oblique angle. I Tried taking shots of them on the deck lid.

I took advantage of AG's sale on 1Z products and bought the same polishes-wax that you used on that TL. Now that I see what they can do - I'm really glad I did! I remember your post on sealants and how good glanswax was, I hope I can get as good results. That was a real sow's ear to silk purse transformation!
