303 & Tires?

I was pretty enthused about my first trial of Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel (the flat finish version) but subsequent use finds it too glossy for my tastes.

Can anyone recommend a product that will leave a flat finish on tires. Has anyone tried 303 protectant in this role? Results?

Thanks!

if you're looking for a nice satin finish try zaino z-16 or griot's garage vinyl and rubber dressing. a little pricey, but a little product does go a really really long way.:up

I use nothing but 303 on the tires and all interior plastic. If you like your plastic and rubber to look they way they looked when they were new than 303 is the ticket. It makes everything look clean. No messy residue just clean. And don't forget it supposedly has UV protection which I like.

The 303 looks very nicely on tires. This and the Zaino tire polish are two of my favorites for this task. The Zaino product gives you a slightly more subdued or satin finish than the 303.

The 303 for me only leaves a matte finish, barely any gloss at all, which is what is good about it. I certainly do not want my car tires looking like the tires at the North American Auto Show. Those tires almost look plastic they are so coated with tire dye and protectant.

I just started using 303 and its finish is very close to that of a new tire.I just got Zaino tire dressing yesterday but have not used it yet.The 303 works great on everything (plastic, rubber, leather and door panels). If your looking for one product to coat everything and UV protectant this is a very good product.

I also find that Zaino leaves a more glossy finish than 303. A lot also depends upon the "texture" and design of the tire.

I noticed that my wife's Michellin tires on her Eclipse were somewhat glossy after using one coat of Z16 - and have stayed that way for 2 weeks now. On the other hand, the Cooper tires on my Expedition were very much a mat finish, even after three or four applications. Go figure. Looks good either way, IMHO.

I tried 303 on my tires and it left them with a very low gloss matte finish. Wasn't bad at all but I prefer a slightly higher gloss.

Very interesting indeed. I do use very little of the Zaino tire polish and I absolutely love the real matte finish. It looks very natural and is not oily one bit. I do apply the Zaino tire polish with an Eagle One tire swipe. I'm pretty sure this makes a big difference. Everyone knows that tire swipes are good for not leaving a real shiny look. The 303 for me leaves the finish a bit more black and shiny. Both are great!
