303 film on paint!

I applied 303 on all the plastic and rubber trim on my truck twice this month. I applied it with a mf pad, let the 303 penetrate for 5-10 minutes and then buffed off with another mf towel. It has been raining in NJ for the past 4 days and I can see streaks of 303 film on the black paint. Its definitely the 303 running off the trim because the areas of film on the paint are below the trim. GOod thing the paint is protected with Klasse SG so its actually easy to remove. My question is it normal for 303 to run off the trim and leave streaks of film on the paint after a rainstorm?

Normal. 303 isn't very durable on exterior trim, I'd save it for interior use only and find a cheaper more durable dressing for exterior use.

I've heard lots of good things about good ol' AIO/SG on exterior trim, no staining and no streaking

Since I have a convertible, this is a big issue for me. I've used 303, Vinylex, Tiefenpfleger, and Raggtopp. Tiefenpflegerwas the worst and Raggtopp the best. 303 and Vinylex were a little better than Tiefenpfleger but still unacceptable.

I have settled on Vinylex for the interior vinyl trim and Raggtopp for the exterior vinyl trim

303 is a UVR protecterant (should it be formulated as weather resistant, yes but…)

As far a black trim I use forever Black + 303 to provide UVR protection.

~Hope this helps~

Just a thought Klasse Viynl, Leather, Rubber Cleaner and Protecterant (how’s that for a product name?) contains a UVR protecterant (no silicone and is reasonably durable, and water resistant)

So you do use 303 on the exterior TOGWT. Do you ever notice if the 303 runs off the trim and leaves a streak of film on the paint?

I use 303 on my interior but switched to Z16 for my exterior for that same reason. 303 streaks and runs when it gets wet unless it sits on the car a few days in the hot sun to dry / evaporate. I am in NJ too!
