3-Step Recommendations

I know this question has been asked a dozen times, but I hope I'm going to ask it differently. :hah I'm not going to ask in a leading manner. SO ok, to the point.

If you can use only one product in each catagory which one would it be? The catagories are:
Compounder:
Polish:
Sealer:
Topper:
I would like your personal recommendation of only one product in each catagory. I would prefer there be no or minimal dusting, no staining of rubber or trim. Must be able to be applied either by hand or with a PC.

I currently have IP, FP2, 1ZPP, Sonus PWC, AIO, SG, P21S, Collinite 476S, #16, and VCW.

Consider the finish to be average, i.e., miner swirls/cobwebs, neglected or improperly cared for. No major paint defects.

I hope I'm not asking too much. It's just difficult to get a "feel" for a product when there are multiple recommendations from each person. I know most of you use multiple products for different occasions and paint conditions, but this is a 'what if you only could use one product for everything' question?

Thanks

You are still going to get dozens of combinations suggested and they very likely will all do the job. :)

Compounder: (I considered this to mean a swirl removal product) Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover 2.0. Works great by PC, lots of work by hand as are almost all swirl removers.

Polish: Klasse AIO,

Sealer: 4 Star UPP.

Topper: S100 Carnauba. Although, IMO, no topper is needed for the UPP.

Charles

Compound: Hi-temp Extreme leveler or 1000 grit remover
*edit* just saw ..."by hand or Pc"...my compound I guess would be SSR3 or 1z UPP
Polish: SSR2.5
Sealer: EX on dark cars and Klasse SG on light or EX-P
Topper: Souveran or TS on Dark- S100 on light

Only one product in each category???!!! :bigscream :D

I'll have different combo recommendations depending upon paint color.

Light Metallics:
Compound = Poorboy's SSR2.5
Polish = Poorboy's PwC
Sealant = Poorboy's EX-P
Topper = Poorboy's Natty's Paste Wax

Dark Colors and Non-Metallics:
Compound = Poorboy's SSR2.5
Polish = Clearkote Vanilla Moose
Sealant = Poorboy's EX
Topper = Pinnacle Souveran

Whites:
Compound = Poorboy's SSR2.5
Polish = Clearkote Vanilla Moose
Sealant = Poorboy's EX-P
Topper = Clearkote Carnauba Moose

Light colors

C-SSR2-2.5
P-AIO (if needed) for you are using a PC so there probably isn't any need to clean up hazing or buffer marks
LSP-EX
T-Natty's

Dark colors

C-SSR2 or Menzerna P0106
LSP-EX-P
T-Natty's

On chrome I would use NO.7 chrome polish, 303 in wells and BnB on tires. To degrease engine APC+ 4:1 and 2:1 on tires

This wasn't my post, but this is the way I have been looking for answers. I know that ya'll might change it now and again, but for a newbie 1 product per step and then we can experiment :bigups

On Black (looks like yours is black :) ).

C-SSR2
P- FPII
(here I would add Mez's Glaze )
S- FMJ
T - not needed with FMJ!

Groebuck no FTG?

I would Choose

PwC to EX To Natty's or S100
UPC to UPP to UGE (:lol)
Revive to Brilliance to Butter Wax.

I dunno there is so much you can do!

My wife's is the black one, mine is a light Bronzemist Metallic. Including the nearby family we have everything from black to silver. No white.

It's interesting that most folks use different products on light and dark cars. I'm definitly learning something here. If I get enough responses I'll creat a mini report and post it. Looks like I'm going to have to split it between light and dark cars.

Woob - I think Groebuck is talking about FTG when he says "Mez's Glaze".

sgo - You may also want to split your results for metallic vs. non-metallic paint too. Products with good clarity will allow more flake show through.
