3 cones are better than 1?

I mostly got it because it looks neat and I was curious. The stock box is pretty good. This seems like it might let more air in the opening from the radiator area, though, as it blocks it up less than the stock box.

I did some runs scanning the car, and saw a .4kPa smaller pressure drop on average (3 runs in 3rd gear through the range) than with the stock box. But that is a pretty small thing. Maybe a couple of horsepower, who knows:

I didn't notice any change in intake sound or anything with it. But it's easier to fit in there, looks nice, and satisfied my curiosity, so I'm happy.

I also got a new duct, the accordian part there. My original had a noticeable pinch in the middle. I put some support hoops in this one, so no worries of the intake duct collapsing or partially collapsing and starving the engine (thought the pressure drop is about 2kPa total, not very much).

I have been looking into the SLP "Loudmouth" for my Mach 1 for some time now. They have some killer exhausts, how do you like the fit and finish of the intake?

Um... It's pretty good. But I had to grind down the weld on the bottom of the lip where it meets the duct. It would prevent the duct from sealing properly. I also couldn't fit my original duct over it. I had to heat it up with a hairdryer and stretch it by hand several times to get it to fit. The new duct I bought fit fine. And I can't clamp my silicone Samco duct over it.

So it worked fine but didn't exactly fit up perfectly. But the powdercoating seems fine and other than that I didn't have any problems. In terms of aftermarket stuff it fit pretty well.

I've had good luck with SLP. My Zexel-Torsen for my 3:73 rear end went in without issues, and 40,000+ miles later it still operates perfectly and silently. :bigups
