3 Black Rides...07 MB S550, 07 Z06, 05 CTS-V

My latest 3 cars were all black. I love and hate black, they always reflect so well, but show every little flaw.

First up are the S550 and Z06 both for the same owner and both with the same process.

I had to hurry as the sun was going down so both pics are before waxing.

process: MB S550 and Z06

Tires and wells cleaned and shined with Megs Hyper 3:1

Rims washed and cleaned with Dirtex

Dawn Wash

Light Claying

Zaino Z5

Interior

Vacuumed floor and mats

Dusted all Panels

303 10:1 wipe down of all panels and leather

Leather treated with Lexol Conditioner

Sorry I don't have before pics as I was in a hurry to get both cars done before the sun went down, didn't quite make it btw but close enough.

Next up, 07 black Corvette Z06

Excellent work, Josh, that emblem is so shiny! And that side-view mirror and the self-portrait are great as well. Nice mirror finish! Sucks that such a nice car has OP though, but the reflection of the garage on the hood looks perfect.

Same owner and same process. He also has a black H2 I will be going back for next month.....:woohoo:

The sun was already setting and just barely had enough light to get these shots. This is just after washing.

Next up 05 Cadillac CTS-V

Josh nice shine on the MB, just one question why Dirtex? just wondering because i think it's a little too strong. Just my .02 cents......Angelo......:bigups

Next is an 05 Caddy CTS-V. This is an Autopia member who got a back hack job at a local body shop and contacted me to fix it.

After more then 3 passes on the hood, I called it quits with owner's permission and just rewashed and waxed it.

The shop will attempt to fix it. It is in need of some wetsanding which I'm fully capable of doing, but did not have the time as I was detailing in Houston but live in Dallas.

I'll put up a couple before and afters of the hood and then just a bunch of exterior pics.

First up, Engine Bay. The CTS-V hold the LS6 405HP Corvette Z06 engine.

Process:

Shampo with Dawn

Light 303 1:1 on greasier parts

Zaino Z16 Tire Gloss for a perfect water based shine.

After

Huge improvement, but if you look closely you can still see some of the deeper scratches that need wetsanding....

After a final wash and wax with Megs NXT to hid as many swirls as possible since he had a show that weekend.

That's all folks.

Wow, that reflections shot of the Corvette is slick as hell. At first I thought that was a big dent in the rear tire fender section, but then I looked closer and that's just a great reflection of the sky that abruptly melts into the reflection of the building. And that shot of the trunk on that Caddy, it looks like the tree stump grows right into the trunk. Awesome.

I used it on the Z06 rims which were polished aluminum. It's great on polished metal or chrome. It's a good metal, chrome cleaner.

I did not use it on the MB painted AMG rims.

I also like it for exhaust tips after a good polishing with Blue Magic metal polish.

Thanks, yea it pretty much doesn't matter how nice the car is, if it's comming off an assembly line it will have OP.

Thanks, the Z06 does have fenders that flare out quite a bit more then a regular Corvette, so you may be seeing a little of both.

Oh man, was that a subdivision called heaven you were detailing in??? That was just toys galore! Absolutely stunning work. I wish you were a little bit closer, I'd get you to do my cars for me!

Thanks for information on the Dirtex, might have to give it a try someday, all three rides are awesome!:2thumbs:

Damn those cars look great. The owner of the first two cars has a bad a$$ house...and some sweet rides.

I am glad I did not attempt to fix the CTS-V. If you had to take 3 passes with a rotary theres no way I would have been close. Came out really good though. Nice job

Excellent on all three, really love those rims on the S5500-wish my customer with an S550 had those wheels instead of the truly evil 22 spoke wheels it has now.

Too bad about the CTS-V, I went through the same thing with a hammered M35.

Tough when the sun is going down earlier now, isn't it? All that rain this summer and I am sure you are as slammed as I am and the days just aren't long enough.

It seemed like Heaven........except I was working my butt off..:waxing: :grinno:

That owner had an H2, MB S550, Z06, his neighbor has a white H2, Porsche Turbo, another neighbor had two BMW's all the neighbors had sweet rides.:2thumbs:

Looks great.. What performance upgrades are on the Z06?(since it has a hennessey badge)

It had a very mild Heads/Cam, LT headers and a couple little supporting mods, it was putting out over 505RWHP I believe. He's going to ship it to CA to get some lambo doors put on and chromies.
