Hey everyone; just thought I'd post this because the car is so bitchin'. This is the owner of cudaworld.com's restoration project; going on 2.5 years now if I am not mistaken. He contacted me about 3 months ago letting me know that the car was coming out of paint and he wanted to have me out in the future to care for it. Today was the day, so I ventured out admittedly very anxious to see the car (I'm a big American Muscle fan!).

As you can see it's still mainly the body - engine is being rebuilt, suspension is chillin', you get the idea. The paint is BASF Glasurit, and it was very nicely applied - virtually no orange peel whatsoever - no fisheyes, no runs, looks incredible. I guess the one downside is it's still pretty soft; as a result it had developed some swirling from a California duster. In any event, I can't wait to see this thing done because so far its pretty amazing judging by the owners dedication it's going to be a site. I will definitely update in the future.

Process:

ONR

Clay

Opt Compound/Orange PC

Opt Polish/White PC

EX-P

Souveran

(before anyone says it, yes, they are low profile tires and he needs a drop! :chuckle: )

Workin' in a coal mine! :D

Cheers guys.

The paint work really looks great, from the last photo shot the reflection looks so sharp with virtually no orange peel visable :2thumbs: . And of course the guy working with the PC looks great too :chuckle:

that thing looks funny lifted that high and with that small of tires and wheels on it :getdown , but anyway WOW what a beautiful car. show pics when it's complete will ya?

What did you use on the wheels? May I suggest somthing shinnier, they really dont stand out as they should on that type of car.

Haha, we were joking the whole day about dressing the tires. I kept walking around with P21S soap looking for an exhuast to polish too. :)

Wow, just love the cuda

Looks like he has chosen rear tires that are wider than the ones in front, good choice :xyxthumbs :chuckle:

Man that thing looks like a POS! LOL Ya right! That thing is amazing!!!!!! That paint work just makes me wanna drool. lol

 Just a beautiful car with a now swirl free finish!

I hope you get out again once the body is back on the frame and get some more pics. :)

Holy bringing back a two year old thread. I saw this pop up as getting bandwidth on my site so I thought I'd update.

In June of this year I went and re-polished the paint, then we added the decals (what a nightmare, 30 year old stickers haha).

Then the car was pretty much finished, and he started to show it:

Then he made some wallpapers. :D http://www.cudaworld.com/wallpaper/green_aar_800_600.jpg

Since then I think the car has been to a dozen shows, it's been in a few magazines.
