2nd Click and Brag - Toyota Camry (yawn)

I worked on this car for a coworker Wed. night. Exterior only detail, it actually turned out to be alot more of a project than I thought. Atleast I know to think twice about doing a car on a weeknight. It was full of scratches and paint chips and would've taken touchup and wetsanding to fix right. Almost depressing considering it's a 2004 model. I could've got out more scratches, but I'm not brave enough to use a rotary on anything other than my own, especially with Toyota paint. After researching it to death beforehand, I was expecting ss paint, but it was actually clearcoat. Atleast she was impressed with it, she's asked me to do it every three months along with her new Malibu SS. She had been getting some guy down the street to slap a coat of cleaner wax and some armor all on the tires. I charged her twice what he'd been charging and still have her business, so I guess it didn't turn out that bad. :har:

This was my first time using #16, I was worried about it being hard to remove, but applying it thin with the PC made a world of difference. It's hard to believe this stuff has been around as long as it has.

Here's the process, everything was done with the PC:

Megs #83 polishing pad

Megs #80 polishing pad

RMG finishing pad

Megs #16

Meg's Hyper-Dressing 2:1 tires, 3:1 fenderwells

Wheels were done with Mother's FX Spraywax

Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Gloss spray when I delivered it.

Sorry for the bad pics, the afters were taken at 6:30am, so the sun wasn't exactly there yet.

ncsu602,

Nice turnaround, very impressive work :2thumbs: . Hopefully you will be able to keep it looking nicer with routine maintainance. Are you in Raleigh for the summer?

Thanks, hopefully I'll be able to spend a little more time on it next time.....I think I got the hard part out of the way.

I'm actually in Winston Salem, grew up just north of here. I graduated in 2004. I definitely don't miss the traffic!
