#26 Haze/streaking

Greetings everyone.

I recently traded away for some #26 paste from a fellow autopian. It's the 'old style' #26 with the black (not transparent yellow) top. It applies great, comes off great and has great depth, and not quite as shiny as NXT. I like it thus far, but there's one problem. After a few days, a haze develops on the paint. A dampened MF towel removes it but it comes back a few days later. It seems to be heat-dependant. It shows up pretty quickly on the hood where it gets plenty hot, and the car seems hazy after being parked in the sun this last weekend.

Now, I know carnubas can streak until they've been washed, and I know #26 is a polymer/carnuba blend. I figured QD'ing the car would be the equivalent of washing it? Also, I didn't remove the month-old NXT that was on the car prior to applying the #26. Would this affect it? My plan is to top the NXT with some #26...that shouldn't cause it to haze, should it?

thanks!

Light cleaner in the NXT can cure the haze of 26. I am surprised to hear that 26 cause streaking/haze. When that happenes, maybe you apply it too thick. You need to apply very very thin and leave it on at least 15-20 mins. For me, I use #26 in liquid and apply with PC. It works great for me. Good luck

Putting it on too thick occured to me. I put it on by hand with the foam applicator. It's difficult to gauge exactly how much you're putting down with paste wax. The first few strokes always 'gwam' on.

Jaymzx..

It's difficult to see how " Thin" is thin. That's why MEG recommends that we apply 2 coats of wax to ensure uniformity. But thin is better than thick, IMO. Sometimes , i'm not sure if i actually apply any wax on the surface. Maybe it's very thin to see :LOLOL Good luck

i applied liquid #26 via my pc with a gray finishing pad.

i allowed it to sit for about 45 minutes.

no streaking or hazing when removing or upon the 1st wash after application
