Client was interested in protecting his new C8. Coated it up!
Paint was in very good shape when it arrived, minor swirls and defects. Factory paint is thin, and full of texture. Not what you’d expect from a brand new factory/model/paint system from Chevrolet.
Cleaned up well and the color looks great!

Sizzle Chest:
When you say "texture", do you mean orange peel or something else in paint appearance?
Was the 3-mil reading typical of most paint thicknesses, or were there thinner spots?
Was there a lot of iron contamination? Kinda hard to show iron decontamination-bleed in a photo on an orange vehicle, I assume.

I did have to Goggle what was in a Z51 performance package option. Lots of go-fast suspension, brake, tire, and exhaust "upgrades". The wing-thing, well, to each his own. I guess its function over form.

The color, while unique, could have done without the black dual mid strip, but again, to each his own. It is also one of those colors that just doesn`t "look right" in front of your home-and-shop from the photos you posted, but again that is just me. Some of those side views remind me of a Lamborghini or an over-sized Lotus silhouette. Finally, the Corvette has an "exotic car" appearance.

AND, now the all-important question: Would you buy one? What are your thoughts on this car? (I know, Porsche 911 owners are NOT Chevy Corvette admirers and vise versa. WHAT, did I say something automotive as socially unacceptable? The controversial Captain Obvious.)

Great detailing workmanship and photographs, as always

When you say "texture", do you mean orange peel or something else in paint appearance? Yep, peel/texture, whatever you wish to call it. The paint does not appear `flat` as it should.
Was the 3-mil reading typical of most paint thicknesses, or were there thinner spots? That was about the average on body panels. Wings, etc were thinner.
Was there a lot of iron contamination? Kinda hard to show iron decontamination-bleed in a photo on an orange vehicle, I assume. It was not bad at all.

I agree, it does look `exotic` and continues to fool me when I see one on the road!

WHAT, did I say something automotive as socially unacceptable? The controversial Captain Obvious.) I like all cars! And I`m a previous Corvette owner as well! That threw a wrench at ya! LOL I would not buy one, however, I`d like to see the ZO6 when it is released. Car is a great bang for the buck, excellent performance and power in a very capable package.

Great detailing workmanship and photographs, as always

Thank you Lonnie!

Scott, that color is beautiful corrected and in the sun, as usual. I must say that those wheels do not look do the car justice at all, IMSO of course. All of my Corvettes have the dreaded OP but never thin paint, just hard clear. The last time I was at Bowling Green they had completely redone the paint shop to eliminate these issues. You have seen it ALL......

p.s. $700 to cover steering wheel in Yachting Blue...not cost effective when compared to a new one.

Thanks showbbq!

Jimmie, appreciate the comments. Yep, that was one of my observations as well, they just didn`t fit!

Hmmmm, not really, but if it looks great/good work, do it up!!!

(I can ask my guy over here what he`d charge)
