Good point!! Neither GM division/nameplate survives today. GM`s at-the-time CEO Bob Lutz`s must-have baby. Too bad; they were nice cars, but like all GM sports cars that "compete" with the Corvette, they get the ax just at the height of their popularity and development.Reminds me of the Saturn Sky / Pontiac Solstice.

Reminds me of what happened to the Pontiac Fiero. Bring out a GT with a V-6 and refined Chevette/Citation suspension (remember this is what it was "cobbled" from!), then ax the car.
Fix It Again Tony
i`m sorry, that was uncalled for...:bubba
Truly exceptional memory.Reminds me of my youth...........
(no old jokes please)
Goodness it is pretty...
I actually still like the new Miata, myself.Yeah, I *do* like its looks much better than the Miata. The Miata has become too ugly for me to even enjoy glancing at, let alone owning. No. Ugly. Vehicles.
While I get the "but it`s slower...buy a real Miata!" point of view and I`m not a big fan of Badge-Engineering, I bet a lot of people would rather have looks that they like than more performance. Too bad it`s a trade-off though.
Wonder how the Dealer Networks are gonna be able to deal with servicing. I`d have some degree of confidence that a Mazda dealer could fix a Miata (only "some" as they sure couldn`t fix my MPV), but who`s gonna be the "experienced Fiat Spider" expert at those dealerships?
