Audios S6
New member
This car belongs to a guy from one of the local audi forums. This is also my second Golf R in as many months, so I'm feeling pretty lucky. The owner was a joy to chat with and is a charter member of audi, vw and porsche clubs. This will be a daily driver and also participate in some track days. The owner had contacted me because of his interest in a coating for lower maintenance and additional protection. Since the car would be going to the tunnel car wash on occasion and spending time at the track, we decided on opti-coat 2.0 for the strong chemical resistance and exceptional durability.
Process:
Tires & wells got D103 with various brushes and PERL
Wheels got DUB wheel cleaner with various brushes and Permanon Platinum
Paint was pre-foamed with CG CWC and Ultimate snow foam
2 chemical decon steps with Tarminator/Ardex It's OK degreaser then Iron-X
2BM wash with CG citrus wash clear
Mechanical decon with Nanoskin autoscrub on the GG6 with ONR as lube
Paint wash inspected and spot corrected with various combos: Megs MF pads with D300 on Rupes 21; LC white hybrids with OPT hyper polish on 3401; OPT hyper polish with 3" B&S orange on 3401.
Complete polish using LC black pads with OPT Finish polish on Rupes 21
B-pillars and other black trim using 3" B&S orange with D300 on the 3401 - this is my new one step combo for these parts, results were awesome.
Exhaust was cleaned with D103, couple IPA wipes then straight to OC2.0
2x IPA wipedown
OC2.0 application
Trim done with UTTG v2
Interior:
Vacuum
leather got LM strong cleaner by hand
UWW+ as INTQD
Upon arrival:
Typical german brake dust, at least it was fresh

Typical german exhaust & hatchback dirt

The state bird (mosquitoes) are finally out in Minnesota

Iron-X working, typical of the whole car

All taped up, the little tape flags note areas that need spot correction. The doors needed more work.

Bird bomb on the roof didn't show up until after an initial polish, whatever the dealer put on was a pretty durable filler as it survive 2 chemical and 1 mechanical decon.

Driver front quarter before and after

Hood before and after

passenger front quarter before and after

B-pillars before and after

A few after shots

The flake was poppin!

Thanks for looking!
