This is our own car we picked up recently.

The dealership was very accommodating and had no issues with me picking up the car the way I wanted to. Nothing was removed from the vehicle by the dealer.

We picked up the car with 3 miles on it, on a Friday night, and drove it home. Part of Saturday and all day Sunday and Monday I protected the car.

Paint was flawless, so after a wash, clay, and Optimum's Prep Polish, I coated the exterior paint first, with Opti Coat Pro and once done, I coated all other (like jambs) painted surfaces, followed by Opti Seal (60 minutes later), and a final layer of Optimum Car Wax. Next, all the glass including the side view mirrors were treated with Opti Glass Pro.

Once the exterior was done, I applied protection to the carpets, seats, and all plastic. The only area is the headliner that was not protected inside - every other inch has protection with either Opti Guard Leather or Opti Guard Fabric.

Lastly, I focused on wheels and exterior plastic. Wheels received Opti Coat Pro, exterior plastic and wheel wells were coated with Opti Lens. (headlights also received Opti Lens on top of Opti Coat Pro)

Before it was pulled out I took a few shots of the gloss inside. Tires have PERL

Thomas we have a Subaru legacy. You will love this car more and more as you get to appreciate what a capable vehicle this truly is. The clean up was great, I would be curious to hear how the leather and fabric guard perform. I currently am in the market for a leather product. The wolf product I used previously was just fair. Still a lot of work to clean up the leather.

Look familiar?

Pat thank you for the kind words.

J - You are right, we LOVE this car. The new interior with all the extras is very nice. The interior was mint, and I haven't had a chance to "test" the protection (thank god).

PS: that was a cool write up.

I kid you not, that Subaru AWD system is unbelievable, you you will fall for the car more as you live with it. I originally purchased the car because I have 2 kids that started to drive and we needed another reliable safe car in a normal price point in the stable. I got a 2012 leftover loaded. I was not expecting this much bang for the buck.

Great source for Subbie Info is the Legacy GT forum.

My wife DD is an Acura MDX and she feels much more in control in the Subaru on a snowy / Icy road. It can instill a little bit too much confidence it is so sure footed.

I was really impressed with the car, its our first Subbie and so far almost 2 years in, we love it.

I love the photos of your car, is that straight out of the camera or is that HDR. Shine is unreal.

Came back to tell you that you should clean the interior glass often, the gassing off of the plastics or the carpet are mammoth in ours anyway. If you don't get it regularly, one day when its cold out the inside will fog over and be a PITA to clear with anything other than your hand. It took almost a year fore that to slow down. It a pretty well documented issue in the subbies.

Thomas... very nice. It was nice that dealer followed your instructions and did not allow his new car prep people to "molest" the car!

Sorry, I forgot to address these to points.

I always shoot raw and do post processing in Lightroom. Single shots, no need to use HDR for these, the camera has enough DR. I have a feeling that if I did do Jpegs, they may come out nicer. Olympus is know for great Jpegs.

I did notice the window was really messed up the other day on the driver's door but cleaned it when I washed the car. I don't mind, the whole experience is so great, - I really am happy that we didn't get a BMW X1.

You car blows the X1 away in every category Size, Fuel efficiency, cost of ownership, capable AWD, reliability, electrical issues. The only thing it might not do is impress the country club crowd. That reminds me of a quick funny story. My family went Skiing for a weekend with our close friends. It was a few years ago, like around 2009. He was driving a Land Rover HSE and I had a Infiniti QX4. We woke up to a ton of fresh powder in vermont. While the wives and kids were having breakfast I went out to shovel my truck out. My buddy Scott said, F-That, pop it into 4WD and drive right out. OK, we did not shovel and we got into the trucks warmed them up and I pulled out without too much issue. He raised his air suspension, and began to slide around in his spot left to right, but not foreword to backward. Laughed my azz off.

He finally got out after a lot of effort. I think you could have purchased 2.5 of my trucks for what he paid for his one.

Its better to be in the know than in the name. I still tease his unmercifully. He traded that LR in on and He now drives a Dodge Laramie P/U. That is a serious snow mobile. And a New Vette in the nice weather.
