Just a few days ago another new client reached out to me to schedule a clear bra and cquartz finest install here in Atlanta. He sent me pictures of his Shelby gt500(a different one than this) and said he had glossy racing stripes. Or rather, that that was all FORD said was available for a 2014. His stripes looked the same as this 2014 I did a couple months ago or so. In short, FORD supposedly doesn't have matte stripes but that's all I have seen. We planned to do a similar install to this one.
Gray with matte stripes means we could not do top coated Suntek clear bra on the whole front without changing the aesthetics of the Shelby. It was important to the owner and the car for the stripes to have ppf just the same. So we did a partial matte clear bra install over the racing stripes and top coated self-healing clear bra over the rest.
Here we started on the hood with the self-healing top coated Suntek clear bra. You can see how the film over the stripes on the hood are casting reflections that the rest of the stripes are not.
The driver side stripe has been cleared of clear bra and the passenger side is about to be cleared.
Removing the passenger side.
Both stripes are free from clear bra while all areas surrounding them are protected from rock chips.
Driver side has matte clear bra installed and you can see the approach to applying clear bra to the passenger side.
The whole install is complete. All painted surfaces are protected with clear bra and the matte stripes are protected from damage as well.
