The ferocity of M meets the sportiness of X.
The power of BMW M meets the all-wheel-drive capabilities of a BMW Sports Activity Coupe in this revolutionary vehicle. Under the hood, the all-new BMW X6 M features the first M Power V-8 Turbo and boasts 555 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. BMW X6 M (2009-) Taken From Wikipedia
The BMW X6 M and BMW X5 M are the first xDrive all-wheel-drive vehicles from the M GmbH. The vehicle was unveiled in 2009 New York Auto Show.[10]
The high-performance M derivative features a twin scroll twin turbo version of the 4.4-liter V8 BMW N63 engine with Cylinder-bank Comprehensive Manifold (CCM). Engine is rated 555 PS (408 kW; 547 hp) at 6000 rpm and 680 N·m (500 lb·ft) at 1500-5650 rpm.
Other features include 6-speed M Sports Automatic transmission with aluminum pull-style paddles on steering wheel, M Dynamic Mode feature, 10 mm (0.4 in) lower Adaptive Drive suspension, 4-piston fixed calipers with 15.6" rotor at front and single piston floating calipers with 15.2" rotor at rear, 20-inch alloy wheels with 275/40R20 front and 315/35R20 run flat tires, special gills in the front fenders, 20-inch light-alloy wheels.[11]
The car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5 seconds.
To sum it up this car is pretty incredible.
Onto the detail, The model came wrapped in Monocco Blue Metalic with a black interior cabin. Its exterior color is amazing. In one light it looks black and in others its a deep Blue with brilliant metalic threw out. This is a vehicle I would love to drive daily. Upon the customers arrival we spoke about different options in a New Car Prep. With BMW out of the factory there is lots of clear on the paint, the orange peel is very heavy. This model it was in excess, the paint also had the normal holograms and swirls. The interior was just dirty with debries from daily use. With just under 3000 miles on it, I present to you the 2012 BMW X6 M Series as it arrived.
The wheels came in with the normal BMW breakdust. Thankfully this one only had about 2900 miles of Dust.

The vehicle had some wax in jams and such, here is an example.

Surface dirt was present on the paints exterior.

The interior just had some mild debries as well.

As far as dressing goes, the motor has some heavy dressing that took from its natural appearence.

Its some of the littliest things that can really take away from the vehicles overall appearence. So it was time to put the presidential touch on this sexy ride. First as always I like to remove all vehicle registration plates and holders. Here is a shot of me using some of the worlds finest tools to do this. Nothing like Snap-on quality!

Once that was done I started with a hot foam bath to help break down all the loose dirt. The car later pressure washed with warm water. At this point no adgitation was done to the paint.

Next I began to work the wheels, tires, and well. For this stage various brushes were used to agitate the surfaces as the product dwells. Take notice the tires were already scrubbed at the moment, as the cleaner did its works I began to work the inner wheel barrels.

The motor received the same attention except this time I used a low pressure rinse with more steam to break down all grease, grime, and that horrible dealership dressing. The door jams also received the same atttention.

Outside from my daily duties of maintaining a large detailing company, I have been fortunate to have some of the worlds most respected detailing product manufactuers allow me to beta test samples that they offer. On this vehicle I had a chance to test a new fall out remover. Top secret stuff here. To some it up, it doesn't change fancy colors like several of the new products out there. This product simply put does what it claims to do. It removes Iron deposit and fall out. This was the second vehicle I played with it one and for the most part I'm beginning to love it. It really aids in the clay bar process as well as setting the paint up for polishing. Super clean. Here you can see me using the top secret formula.

For the process I wiped it on with a microfiber and let it dwell. Many may ask "Barry why would you do this to a new vehicle?" Well in short Vehicles new from the manufactuer can be shipped to a port or location via truck or cargo. In these instances fall out is common. It also aids in the paint cleansing process. Take notice in the below picture how the left side of the car is holding water. This is a good sign any previous wax protection is stripped. Man not only did this stuff work. It stripped everything. Good thing I have more left.

After a clay bar treatment and and one more final wash, the car was blown dry with compressed air and pulled into the compounding area. It was not set to be masked off. During this detail, I masked anything that could be prevented from damage. This included areas such as trim, moldings, lights, emblems and such.

The below picture is a sneak peak of futher down in the write up. I'll call this photo as someone said "Beast Mode" a fellow detailer seen this photo on my facebook updates section. He labeled "Beast Mode". It made me laugh. I enjoy comments like that.

Below is a few photos of my artistic masking abilities. Sometimes I go overboard, but saftey is a priority with me.

As you seen earlier, I had a bunch of sandpapers from a variety of companys on my Snap-on cart. Usally my go to paper is Mirka as of late, but I wasn't sure if I had enough paper to go fully around this car. There wasn't enough time to place my order threw buffdaddy.com. You know I get a lot of paper off Kevin and without doubt his customer service is incredible and I always receive my papers and liquids in a flash. If you ever looking into venturing out into a sanding project or polishing I suggest you check out his site and blog. Lots of great and solid info there. Anyways enough of that cool bald guy. This X6 had lots of heavy orange peel threw out. Many panels varied, but the texture was completely uneven. I stress that I wasn't looking to get the paint entirely flat. I wanted to even it out and minimize the orange peel. To sum it up I used papers from 3 inch to 6 inch. Grits included in the range of 1000 threw 4000. Papers varied from 3M Trizact to Mirka Abralon and Mirka Abranet.
Here I was doing some finishing sanding with a 6 inch Snap-on DA.
