2010 ICA World Expo

WAS

Driven
Well, I've been gone since May 11th traveling around on various business events. One of those events was the 2010 International Car Wash Association Car Care World Expo, held in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas convention center.

I know a lot of you think this show is only for the mass car wash industry (and the swirl-o-matics), but there were a LOT of detailer-oriented booths as well. In short, I found a new odour decontamination system, some new lines on bulk detailing products, swung by the Meg's booth, and got some smoking deals on new equipment (for example, I got a brand new Mytee HP60 for a "show price special" of $495).

Anyways, here's a few pics from the show:

so tell us about some of the products you came across! I don't want photos, unless there are hot women in them, I want info on products.

Cheers,

 There were a few models, but alas, no pictures.

If you want some info on particular products that I saw, shoot me a PM and I can zip some links your way (as well as post-show e-mails from vendors which offer "show-special" pricing).

Holy crap, I think Freddy has some competition for haunting peoples dreams now!

I didn't really understand why there were so many "brush" automatic washes ? :nixweiss I don't know much about the car wash market in the USA, but here in Canada, mostly we see touchless automatic car washes (which are, IMO, the best method of washing a car). I'm trying to think, and I can't even remember WHERE there is an automatic brush car wash in the western part of Canada (Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, etc). I vaguely remember going through one about 20 years ago with my parents, but I haven't seen one in years and years. Why is it that these are still being sold ? I saw quite a few touchless automatics at the show as well...

Why someone (as a business owner) would invest in an old technology (brush automatic) and not in the new technology (touchless automatic) is beyond me.
