2009 Audi R8 4.2 Heffner Twin Turbo Correction by Richie's Custom Detailing

I own the 7336 and i'm not really sure what the sp stands for.

I'd like to know if i could use the backing plate for the 7336 with CMA 's polishing and cutting foam pads.

Thanks,

Ron

The 7336 is better than the 7424 because of price only, other than that they are the exact same machine.

The "SP" stands for sander/polisher. It has that added to the model number because the 7336 comes with both the polishing head and sanding plate and sand paper disks.

The plate that comes with the 7336 cannot be used with pads from CMA, it is intended for use with the sanding disks prodived with the machine. You need the velcro backing plate to use "hook and loop" pads like CMA carries. The velcro backing plate is available from CMA.

The 7336 is much better (and cheaper). In addition to the pads, it also has the 6" counterweight. The 7424, despite having a 6" pad, has the counterweight for the 5". I have my 7336 and the pads from CMA. It doesn't get any better than that!

Thanks guys I think we will go buy one at lowes this weekend. I pray this machine makes my car shine half as good as some of the people's cars on this board. My ex gf/roomate says she will buy one. She already ordered klasse.

After buying the PC 7424, it looks like the 7336sp would be a better deal if you plan on buying the CMA pad kit anyway. It would have saved me $20 or so, I wouldn't have had to get a 6" counterweight from coastaltool.com, and I would have a sanding disk to boot.

Well my ex gf bought a pc tonight so the minute the pads come in i wil smr and then when the klasse group buy comes in I'm going to town and my car will look like a million bucks!

Yeah..me too..its collecting dust...after ordering..I soon ordered some more...once i cleaned them i let them air dry and that could take a few days...also...i didn;t knwo when too clean them...as i use the pads ..im pickin up all this dirt...so, clean as i go along or replace with a fresh pad....that is a judgement decision

It came with a pad but we wont use it.</blockquote>
The white pad that comes with the PC 7424 is fine to use. The only difference between that pad and the one that comes with the CMA kit is that it isn't a velcro pad and it doesn't have the concave shape of the CMA pad. Other than that, it's fine. You could use it to apply Finesse-IT II or SMR no problem.

Cybercowboy thanks for the tip. I didnt know which pads are for waht. I know there are yellow, white, and wool pads. I dont want to use the wrong pad and hurt my paint? Do you use the pc to both apply and remove the products?

Spree17,

Pads that come with CMA kit have different levels of aggresivness:

grey pad - for applying of waxes and sealants like SG, no cutting action

white pad- typical mild polishing pad, similar to the one that came with your PC, this is the pad to start with SMR, FI-II, and great pad for AIO and other polishes/cleaners

yellow pad - more aggresive than white pad, use this pad to get more cutting action with SMR or FI-II, great for deeper swirls

wool pad - the most aggresive pad, used primarly for leveling, be careful, can create swirls, follow with foam pads

Most people here use PC to apply products and remove them by hand. PC is a great tool and you will be happy with the results.

Good luck.
