2008 Civic SI detail help - Holograms (?), Sport suede, Overspray

Hey everyone! I haven't posted here much but I've been on the forums for almost a year now. I've been detailing cars for about 5 years now and polishing for about 2 so I'd like to think I know what I'm doing...plus I've been reading the forums for a while now ;)

I recently just got a used 2008 SI :) with 30,000 miles on it and the first time I took it out and detailed it (On a recent warm day! - for all those east-coasters) I noticed a few things.

1) When I was cleaning the windshield, I saw some over spray on pretty much the whole wind shield. It looks like someone was spray painting in the area and got yellow and red paint specks on the wind shield. It's nowhere else on the car except the glass. How would I go about getting this out? I tried alcohol, acetone, claybar, and a vigorous scrub, but nothing's worked.

2) Second thing I noticed is that when I buffed it there was still a faint amount of hologramming. Originally when I picked it up from the dealer there was A LOT of it, but I knew I could fix it so it wasn't a problem. I got an 90% swirl correction, but left it there because it's a daily driver but I'm still rather peeved about the holograms. Are the swirls so deep in the paint that I need to go deeper to get them out or is it something wrong with my finishing step? I've been using Hex Logic finishing pads with CG Final Finishing step. Any suggestions?

3) Finally....what the heck do I do with "sport suede" fabric? It's not leather....it's not cloth...but suede. Is there a certain cleaner or protector for it?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

1) Razor Blade. Scrape; don't slice.

2) What product did you use for polishing? The newer Civics (post 2005) all have extremely soft paint. Those light holograms may be traces of of deep swirls and scratches. The hologram could also be caused by the medium or high cut polishes, and they may require a finer polish to remove.

3) Personally, I use water and a towel (either MF or cotton). The Si seats are made of Alcantara and you don't want to use any harsh cleaner on them.

1) You sure that wont scratch the glass?

2) I know newer Honda paint is really soft so I used a very light finishing step which makes me thing that the holograms are just very deep in the paint. What's a good high-medium cut polish?

3) I have a Green-Devil that's essentially a wet/dry vac. There's a vacuuming attachment with a spray nozzle for the carpet cleaner. Will that work as well?

1. Just make sure the razor blade is flat on clean glass, say 30 degrees.

2. Just try polishing a section again. That should let you know what is going on.

3. Light fabric cleaner on a water damp cloth is ok.
