Hi there folks... question for y'all : after a couple of manual wax jobs (yup, by amateur me) on a Volvo and a Porsche 911, I started seeing that all of my rubbers got stained white.

Is this the effect that wax, even residual on the buffer and/or towel has... how do I get it off, I want my rubbers and hard plastic to be black again ??

There are a couple things you could do. Peanut butter works suprisingly well on those kinds of things. You could also use a tooth brush and some rubber protectant and get it out. It should be pretty simple if you are patient enough. Do a search on it and you'll see some of the other discussions we've had on the topic. Search for Peanut Butter and I'm sure it will only pull up threads that deal with this problem. Welcome to the forums!
 
I get a tooth brush and some plastic polish from Meguiars (the gray bottle) and clean it out that way. It worked for me very well. In the future, do not use any wax that contains Petro.. Use water based products only. Zymol, Soveran, and P21 don't stain from what I heard.

I thought you were pulling my leg ! But you are absolutely right.. more folks swear with this remedy !

My daughter of 6 is gonna shout bloody murder if I use her smooth Peanut Butter. My 3 year old son is just gonna hand me the butter and try to be helpfull, my wife is gonna think I'm insane take the kids and leave me and I'll be standing there wiping PB on my 911... hilarious !



All in jest, I am going to try that trick.. thanks.. that would have been the last thing on my mind to try ! How do folks figure this out ??????

thanks for the tip, what you are teaching me is to get rid of my wax and get the water base, that sounds like a best practice as well.

Klasse and Blackfire don't stain either. :xyxthumbs Good luck with that. Don't let em lock you up in the loony bin for using Peanut butter. lol

This works well. Tried it this past weekend on some textured black trim. Good results, and quick! :xyxthumbs

I love it with the hood down and the windows up, all the flames and underside of the hood is to much for me. but the rest of the car is HOT!!!!

Where can one find a large resolution image of the last pic..... EPIC photography in that shot!!!! L4P thread?

If want I can send any of the pics in raw or large resolution. I have much better ones from the photo shoot.
 
Man, I'm REALLY digging your photography skills! I'm curious about a couple of things....

What lens are you shooting with?

Also, where those wheels hydro dipped(or whatever it's called)? I'm really loving the way they've wrapped that carbon design in the center piece of the wheels!

That was a photoshoot done over in Miami of the car. The rims are carbon fiber spec 5 series, great rim however I do not recommend company. I shoot my pics with a "F" series lens though.
 
The exterior looks amazing. What a hot car. To bad the interior and under the hood is soooo pimped out though.

The outside of the car is top notch. Very nice. Not digging the hood underside or interior.

Awesome wheels, but yeah, 360 Forged did great and then folded badly...big deal on corvette forum.
