2006 WRX STi pictures

These are the first ones I have seen of the new STi look. Personally I am not a fan of the front at all. It looks like a damn Suzuki Forenza if you ask me. Anyway, here are the pictures of Subaru's latest hotness.

I hated it at first but have seen it for so long now I am used to it. The front looks like a Alfa Romeo. It looks like one because Alfa's designer designed the new Imprezas.

People keep saying it looks like an Alpha, but I still say it looks more like a Forenza. I just don't see Alpha Romeo in that at all. Maybe a really old one like this 97, but nothing modern. It isn't a good look on an Alpha either.

I guess if you feel good about your V8 destroying a 4 cylinder car then that is your deal. Here are the stats on the car. I don't see much change other than styling. The power is still the same. Anyway, you won't win any race against that thing in the winter. :naughty AWD ownz joo!!!

I agree 100%! If you V8 can't beat a 4 banger you ought to be ashamed of yourself! LOL

The 04/05 version will walk all over a 03/04

03/04 Cobra put down approx 390HP which was suposedly under rated from what I understand people had their cars on the dyno just off the show room putting down 410.

04/05 STI puts down about 300 AWD hp ... The STI will take a Mustang Cobra like its a walk in the park! with the all wheel drive this car has no problem with take offs where as the Mustang RWD has a light rear end!

So the point of a V8 being beat by a 4cyl isn't that sad! However ford will not let it happen again!

Considering my Legacy GT put down numbers for AUTOWEEK last month of 13.95 I'd say that I'm not sorry I bought that instead of the STi. :naughty Just a friendly word of warning to V8s out there... Never underestimate the power of a sedan. While I don't think V8s can really claim bragging rights that they beat a four banger, I'm glad there are a few out there that will give them a run for their money.

Well If you do a few mods/part swaps you'll hit STi numbers easly

:drool Love that car. Front end doesn't bother me at all either. Not a big fan of the rear window splitter though. Seems a bit overkill to me, like when Countach's had the wing on the nose. As for Mustang vs. STI, you can't go wrong either way. They both have their own allure as in the Mustangs disinctive exhaust note. No other vehicle has such a sweet sounding exhaust in my opinion. And the STI with the driver controlled differential...what a car.

I'm surprised that no one emphasized the fact that the cobra's V8 is supercharged, and the acceleration performance is just barely above a turbo'd 4-banger? I think efficiency speaks for itself.

First off if you look at hot rods magaize they are not really all that good at driving powered rear wheel drive cars down the 1/4 mile!!! I remember way back when when they said a 1990 5.0 mustang ran a quarter mile in like 15.5 seconds and i personally bone stock besides 373 gears and a full exhaust ran a 13.8 at i belive 104! I also new a friend BONE stock that ran a 14.1 down to the air filter! Also At englishetown race way in NJ i have seen Bone stock 03 cobras running 12.6-12.9 all day with nothing done what so ever. So i think 13.30 is redicoulouse for the 03 cobras mabe if you spin most of first gear which they prolly did haha

I absolutely hated the new Subaru "look" at first, but now I think it looks awesome. IMO it IS a different design than whatever else is on the road.

In regards to it's resemblance to the Forenza, the design house Pininfarina designed the Forenza as well as many other vehicles (Alfa Romeo amongst them), so I'm gonna say that they're the ones responsible for the grille area.

I'm not so sure I like the new look, but at least subaru is progressing with their styling rather than falling back on a 30+ year old design.
