Cool wheels and I love what looks like a pretty dark window tint. Hard to believe they can stuff all that engine in there!

How much hp does the new 5 cyl version put out? The old turbo used to put out like 160 I think.

I believe it's 150 hp now. But has good low end torque as well. Feels much more like a sports car now. I was suprised. Wife is thrilled with it and that's the important thing. 
The tint is what they called medium. 35%?????
They have 3 levels now, Base, Pkg 1, & Pkg 2. I opted for top package called pkg. 2 and you get leather, 17" wheels, fog lights, etc. A lot of car for right at $20K.

that looks more like 20% to me... i thought 35 was a little lighter but then again those are sun shots so it looks darker. i remember hearing there is 35, 20, and 5... 5 being darkest. so i dont know. whatever it is it makes the car look alot better
dr427, Is that Reflex Silver? That is the color of my Wife's '03.5 Turbo S. There is just a ton 'o flake in her paint! Can be almost as blinding as white on a sunny day. I have to admit I have not yet embraced the new flattened fender look. That five-banger does sound exciting though. And, as you said, it is a lot of car for the price. It is my first VW ownership experience, and I am somewhat disappointed after the treatment we have receieved over the years from Volvo. From what I've read, our experience isn't an isolated one. Have you owned VWs previously? What has been your dealership experience?
Mikeyc, IIRC you are right at the 160hp number. The Turbo S has a chip tweak to 180hp. More than enough to turn the wheels on this little rocket. With some minor suspension tweaks I think it would be xxxxxtra fun.

Must be 20% tint then. It was middle of the road. The light was too light and the dark was WAY too dark. My wife wanted something that was medium. It looks dark from the outside, but once inside looking out it is fine. A little bit of security I guess.
Yep, Reflex Silver. Turbo S eh! That must really move! This is our first new VW and the purchase was at a dealer 180 miles away because of the model and price. Local dealer wanted $500 to transport it so we said forget it we will go buy it and pick it up ourselves. Coincidentally the service department locally were not so friendly because we didn't buy it there either. The driver side mirror had an optical defect and so I took it in locally and they were giving me flack since it only had 200 miles on it that the selling dealer should have caught it and we would need to take it back. I was like....it is a warranty item I want it fixed. Push came to shove the service manager was polite and got it fixed, but I felt like they were giving me an attitude because I didnt' buy the car from them. So our first dealer experience wasn't the best, but I am always willing to accept a bad day.
When I picked it up they were great and very friendly.
We had a 2000 New Beetle GLS prior, but when we bought it it was already out of warranty, so I never took it to the stealership. Never needed anywork for that matter.
As for the '06 looks, the flat fenders didn't get me at first, but now it stands apart from the 98-05's. The biggest improvement has to be the front and rear bumper. Much better. A little like your Turbo S.

That does look like 20% to me also, but if it has a dark interior color, the tint always looks darker.

I don't remember what the N/A Beetle was, but the Turbo was 150hp and the Turbo S had 180hp.
