2006 Lexus IS, 2006 Subaru Impreza Details

I was contacted by a new member at autopia to zaino a couple of new vehicles his family had purchased. Upon arrival I knocked out the Lexus and then the Subaru. Both vehicles were totally swirl free and only were quite clean. Greg watched as I worked and took notes on how to work the zaino. He will be contributing some pics soon.

Process for both vehicles were as follows:

-Wash with Z7 and Foam Gun

-Light Claying with z18

-Hand Polish with Klasse AIO

-Z6 wipedown

-Z5pro (zfx'd and z8'd) x 2 (Paint, Wheels, and Glass)

-Z8 wipedown

z16 on trim and tires

meguiars hyper dressing in wells

IG to clean glass prior to z5pro

that lexus is stunning. why dont more people do this? the subaru has a very nice color but i prefer the lancer evo. all these zaino zaino zaino, i think i need to give it a try. only if i knew which ones to get.

Very nice job greg... Man I really wish I could detail more often... Last month all I did was 2-3 full details. Your pics along with Picus, Epscivic (excuse for the misspelling), g35stilez, and the others who get to do this more often inspire me to make time...

Back to work...

P.S.

Your pictures have gotten way better. I'm waiting to receive a camera I got from Joshua.

Both look really good. The Lexus looks really deep and rich, while the Subaru looks really wet. That riced out looking spoiler on the Subaru though, ugh.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Mr. Ikon - You cant go wrong with any of the kits on the Z site because all of there products are excellent, and Im sure you will use them all. Make sure to include the Z8 as well because they dont come with the kits. If your looking for the minimal of products I would recommend:

Z5pro

Z6

Z8

Zfx kit

The wing was there before civics/accords/camrys etc starting copying it and giving it a bad name. It is funtional above 70MPH

Great job Greg! Did you notice if the STI's clear was soft or not? On mine I can get a lot of swirls/hazing out with a finishing pad :o

Greg,

I've been around these messageboards for a little while now, and I've had the oppurtunity to see most all the pics you have posted. I've always been impressed with your work, but what really amazes me is that you keep finding ways to get even better. The work you turn out is top notch dude. That IS is absolutely amazing. Sick car, sick color and SICK detail!

You seem to be keepin' busy man, I hope you are still finding time to strum on the ole axe every now and again. :D

It was all done by hand being super careful. I didnt get any hazing or swirling.

Stellar!

Love it across the board.

For your shots, knock your E/V to -2/3, I find the top half/wheels look much less washed out and the pesky ring almost vanishes :).

Sean, I will definatly do this. I dialed down the E/V halfway through the last set of pics because the light was washing out some of the reflections, but they were a little to dark. Im sure the -2/3 will be right on. Thanks

Way2Slow - Thanks for the great comments. I have only really been working on the weekends due to college but still enjoy it. And yes finding plenty of strum time. Working on creating enough material for my first CD!
