Gentleman,

I am taking delivery of a new M3 convertible in the next 1-2 weeks. I already told the dealer to PLEASE not touch it and just delivery it in whatever condition they got it from the boat. That said I would like some suggestions for the all around care both interior and exterior and where to purchase them. I used to use nothing but Zaino products on a similarly colored Benz CLK 500 but it was never "wet" or "glossy" enough for me. I will say, that the longevity of the product was fantastic. I have found that some products work better on certain makes then others. Are there any products that you all have used on BWW/M3s that have really worked out well? In addition, I've never owned a convertible before and do not know what to use on the top. Being a new member here, I am still trying to learn all your abbreviations for the products so if you could please be more specific. I have been really impressed with the community here and how much information is shared. I look forward to your suggestions.

Welcome! :dcrules

Glad to see that you want to care for your car, oh, and your not a ZainoHolic! Stick on these boards and you will pictures and discussions on MANY products. The best way is to read up, learn, and start detailing.

First, Buy some good cleaning tools like well lubricating soap, chenille or lambswool mitts, and other cleaning tools for the wheels.

Second, You will need to clay the car, as it will have tons of rail dust embedded within the clear coat.

Since it is a brand new car, wait 30 days or more to fully let it cure. The idea that the clear coat and paint are baked in the factory sometimes voids the need for curing, but I wouldn't risk it at all.

In terms of polishes and waxes, it will depend as your finish may be very nice and you won't need any polishing. I suggest you just wait to see what you like.

Enjoy DC! :cool

I should be doing a Silver 02 M3 soon and I'll be using Poorboys EX as the final step. I'll post pics for sure.

Products from P21S, Pinnacle, Wolfgang, or Poorboys would be great for your car. These are the few products that are and have been successful on my black BMW.
